Ok so my patience lasted 1 day and I went ahead and installed the exhaust today. I love it. I used to have the SSR muffler delete and HOLY DRONE. The MPRB doesn’t have any drone for me with stock exhaust tips. Sounds amazing. I’d say it’s 2.5-3x as loud as stock and has a deeper tone. Couldn’t be happier with it. I’ve already driven an out an h r and a half just listening to the exhaust. May not even put the tips on and save myself $120, but we’ll see

I wish I got the SSR muffler delete. That sounds really good. Did you try extending the tips on those?

i didn’t. But it had to be 10x louder than stock. It was unpleasant to drive with it. The whole car vibrated. I didn’t enjoy that exhaust at all. Some people might love it, but it was not for me.

The vibration is due to reverb. It happens with my custom axle back as well. With tips extended out past the trunk, it won't bounce back underneath. Some people sealed their tips by wrapping it with exhaust wrap and stopping any reverb coming back underneath.

Anyone has tested the performance with these?
Everyone seems to agree that they sound really good. How are the drag times or dyno numbers on modified cars (450whp+)?
Also how is the sound at high RPM?

I got my stainless steel for $930 shipped from Redline360 - Performance Parts & Lifestyle. They had a discount code 'WELCOME' that knocked $30 off.

Note that the wait time was a month.
Not bad at all, we are happy to offer discounts to anyone wanting to order. Just send us an email to Sales@K8StingerStore.com

Dave from K8 let me know today that mine has shipped. Very excite!
Yezzir!!! :)

Makes sense it would be cheaper in the the states. Unfortunately up here they're almost at par. I'm looking for a deep sound which I believe both should have but also looking for which has more power later down the road for future mods

Running into drone issues in the normal range now (1.8k - 2.3k). It was great the first few days, but now I can hear and feel it reverberating under the car under acceleration in that range.

Double checked all connection points and everything looks snug, I'll have to see if I can find a local shop with a smoke machine to test for leaks.

Do you have Stock tips? Or extended clamp on tips like Arkapovic.

Just got it installed. Very happy with the sound. It is definitely loud while cruising at highway speed so I will eventually get tips or a wrap to see if it makes a difference.

I for sure understand why kia tuned the stock exhaust the way they did though. The days of quiet highway cruising are over for me

Can anyone confirm this Catback won't have any fitment issues with SSR mids? Also does the Aluminum one weigh more than the Stainless Steel?

SS is much more dense than AL so I would assume it would be heavier.

Keep in mind that the alternate option is not aluminium, its aluminized steel, meaning it's a steel part that's been coated in an aluminum or aluminum alloy. Without knowing the grade of the base steel in the aluminized version it's hard to say which one would be heavier, but it's safe to say it would not be an appreciable difference.

Pairs up well with the SSR mids.

Do you have any clips of how your car sounds? Because I currently have SSR mids and a muffler delete and I just want to know how much of a difference there really is.

I don’t. Just a cold start one I posted in this thread.

Well I had posted I would update once I received my MBRP. Long story short, the first eBay vendor I bought from did not have them in stock (Stainless Steel) even though the auction said he did. Had over a month back log for them.

So I cancelled that order, and contacted another eBay seller who did have them in stock. He said he could ship it in 2 business days, and I said sold.

I ordered it on Friday November 8th, and ETA was Monday November 11th. Perfect!

Well that was until UPS got the box... Turns out the regular UPS driver that day called in sick, so a sub driver was assigned the route. At 4PM on Monday I get a message that it had been delivered. Nope, nothing. I live out in the country and have roughly a quarter mile driveway, and would know if a UPS truck came up to the house. I checked everywhere and nope, no box, no MBRP.

Turns out the sub driver somehow delivered the box to Culpepper Virginia, about 20 miles away.

Anyway, after some calls back and fourth with UPS, they "found" my MBRP and were able to deliver it today. Little damage to the outside of the box but otherwise in perfect shape.

It is going on this Saturday and I am excited to hear it for the first time. Exhaust day Saturday!!

Just put in an order for these up in the cold north here (not shipping till first week of December :(). Some questions I'm still confused about after reading everything here.

Most likely this exhaust system is the only thing (probably) to be done on the car (no muffler delete or downpipe) and most likely sticking with the stock exhaust tips.
I'm assuming there shouldn't be any drone since I didn't get any of the other stuff done or if there is some drone deemed annoying enough, would I be able to use the exhaust wrap stuff without needing a jack or anything to get it done? Or would I need to go into a shop?

Sorry, never done exhaust stuff to my previous car so this is new territory for me :lipsaresealed:

Hello! I feel your pain in chosing an exaust setup. Try a secondary cat delete first, then go for a catback/ axleback. Secondary cat delete gives you better sound and few more HP. All AM exhausts are going to be loader ...and have a certain amount of "drone". Lots of peeps here are looking for a better exhaust "note". From all the posts I've seen concerning axleback upgrades ... the MBRP setup has the best reviews for a subdued, not to harry choice.
