Hi guys and gals. I just put an order in for the MBRP stainless steel exhaust. I have tried reading through the forum to figure out the correct size tips for this. I was looking at the Akrapovic tips that have been mentioned. I want to avoid as much drone and resonance as possible. I have seen the 51 mm to 89mm tips being recommended. I noticed one poster was selling his because they didn't fit. Can anyone with MBRP confirm the size or at least offer some other suggestions please. I don't mind spending a few extra dollars to get this right. Thanks.

2.5 inlet 63mm x 89mm round but have to dremel couple mm off the top to fit. The correct size if you want the oval look is 63mm x 105mm

input is 63mm. output is 75x105mm for the ovals. sometimes aliexpress sites just put one of the dimensions on the exit side, usually the largest 105mm.

I have these tips and yes the correct size is as mentioned above 63 x 105 to replace the stock. However keep in mind these are very cheap tips, at least one of mine has developed a very annoying internal rattle. So I would suggest that you might want to buy yourself a spare or two.

I have no issues with the SS tips at all. Just some black smog from the exhaust
You might have to retightening them.

It’s the tips internals nothing to do with where they’re attached to the exhaust. Like I say the Ali express Akrapovic tips are cheap. But hey I like mine and for the price so what one rattles. My lazy aszz will likely fix it over the winter.

MBRP really doesn’t drone much at all. I’ve had mine for 2 years. I tried tips for a couple of days and it made it so quiet inside, it sounded stock. Had to take them back off. It actually took away from the experience of driving the car not having any sound. If you want to hear your MBRP, I don’t recommend tips. If you want stock sound inside, but louder outside, then go for the tips.

That's not bad advice. I suppose I could wait and see how I feel after the install and go from there. I do really like the look of some of the aftermarket slip on tips for cosmetic purposes. Maybe that will be the compromise.

I agree with 87and66. I've had my MBRP on for a few months now, the outlets just dead end an inch or two away from the factory tips, but I haven't really noticed any level of drone or resonance bouncing around that has remotely warranted that I buy aftermarket tips. I will say that the exhaust itself has gotten louder with time, once the piping has "carboned up", but I'm still nowhere close to needing additional parts to combat resonance or drone.

I can listen to AM radio on volume level 3 perfectly fine if that gives any assurance.

I think the big change comes if/when you replace your factory mids with catless pipes.

Agreed!!
I had MBRP for about a year and just installed the Jun Bl downpipes/mid pipes last week. There was very minimal vibrato/resonance with the MBRP at a dead stop (still completely acceptable) but now, with the new midpipes, it’s dead quiet at a stop and about 25% louder and deeper on initial acceleration. I can’t imagine not having tips with this combo

Correct. Before I put my ARK’s on I thought the MBRP were a slight notch above stock on the loud scale. But I did put my cheap tips on from the get go.

my tips have been on for a year, no tarnish, no issues. a quick wipe with a cloth gets them nice and shiny, on the outside of the tips at least. the insides are too sooted up for that.

If you are looking for some blacks ones

Great advice. I just got my MBRP installed today at KHARTUNERZ. I live 1.5 hours away from the shop so had a good long ride to decide if the drone or any potential drone would bug me or not. Still testing. It’s louder than I expected it to be (in a good way).
