MBRP Catback + Secondary Downpipes

I'll preface this by saying drone is subjective and people have different definitions of it.

Here's just some initial impressions.

When I installed downpipes, I got a very slight reverberation in the cabin that could easily be drowned out by the radio.
Just a short highway drive back to work, 2-3k RPM cruising, that noise is amplified with the catback. It doesn't help we have a hatchback.
Theres a reason why a lot of folks put sound deadening in the boot. I'll probably do the same.
My current set up reminds me of the straight up Borla catback that I sat on briefly in terms of cabin volume.

Driving through the neighborhood, you can still sneak in late at night without waking everyone up.
Sound upon acceleration is going to be dramatically different if you haven't experienced an aftermarket catback in your stinger.
The exhaust note went from embarrassingly quiet to noticable - but not obnoxious.
I appreciate the fact its not raspy or has a rattle and provides a deeper tone.

I have an overly sensitive neighbor and HOA. What are your thoughts on this setup? I'm very tempted to buy this.

How are cold starts? That is my biggest issue.

You unbolt the stock catback, wiggle some hangers loose, bolt the new one on, and wiggle the hangers back on. Personally I see no reason why you can't do it yourself if you know how to operate a ratchet or wrench but if you really want to pay someone, nobody should have any issue unbolting and re-bolting some pipes onto a car.

I usually do my own stuff, I have floor jacks but do not have a lift. I put my front sway on and new rotors and pads. I might do this, I want to figure out how to do the muffler tape noise reduction method also.

Here is the question.

I'm about to buy this setup. If it's too loud for my neighborhood, anybody want to buy it deeply discounted?

I will but dammit looks like I to slow LOL

2 is better than one. Y'all can figure out driver or passenger side for your cars!

Just kidding.
I'll give you $1 more then whatever he gives you price is right style :D

Haha. So I'm going to order it later today, or tomorrow.

I am going with the aluminized version, it's a little cheaper and not backordered for 2 months. I'm in the south, I don't need the more expensive one.

So all you’re doing is separating the exhaust exit from the open area, basically?
Yes basically. It’s simply stopping the reverberation from bouncing back towards the cabin. As long as you fill the tips so all the sound is projected out the rear of the car it will stop almost all the drone.

SS is out until EOM July/August. They aren’t sure. There is only one set left. I’ve never had any issues with aluminized piping but I totally understand.

I may even wait for the SS myself, since my DP are SS too.

The SS version is on back order for a month or two.

My source reports one aluminized left.

That is what we said in the other thread.
I called Mbrp yesterday and the earliest a dealer can deliver ( and Iam in Canada) is end of July... there is no inventory.

End of July?

Selling gently used MBRP Catback for $5999.69

Must pick up.
