Good morning,

I've been waiting to have this exhaust installed since mid December when I received it and yesterday it all went down at a reputable shop I decided on. I went without the resonators and am very impressed by the tone of this exhaust and the theatrics it offers for the Stinger, especially ripping on the highway.

I had the entire exhaust welded, starting with a mid pipe flange delete. The mild steel of the OEM (2023) flange was heavily rusted and this was the way to go. It was mated up nicely with the cats and welded directly. I don't have a picture of the work done on this section.

I requested to have the quad exit pipes extended to match how the OEM setup was positioned in the bezels. I am very happy with how it looks, it is hard to tell that it is modified at first glance but if you know you know and that's exactly how I like it.

This exhaust has an intense low frequency drone right around 2.5K RPM - I knew this going in and it was the primary reason for extending the exit pipes.

The passenger side exhaust actuator connector wiring had to have its retainer clip disconnected to allow connection to the actuator when mounted on the MBRP catback. The wiring was pulled tight here and is just long enough to connect - I will probably need to extend the connector wiring on this side to accommodate my 11Mode controller.

Here are some pictures:

Awesome! How is the drone, considering you had the pipes extended? I have the 2022+ Borla valved exhaust. I did not get the pipes extended, and there is definitely some drone (despite Borla's claims), but its been tolerable. I only really notice it when going uphill.

Thanks. Sadly, I have nothing else to compare my ride loudness to. I find the drone to be really intense at the critical RPM in higher gear, especially with valves open (duh). I imagine the extension should be an improvement but to what degree, I can't say.

Still adjusting to having the exhaust on the car now and figuring out how to optimize shifting so it sounds smooth. On highway, blasting around >3K all the time is really fun and sounds great, but maintaining that engine speed consumes fuel way to quickly. I find myself switching to comfort mode when just driving to quiet things down.

Yeah different people have different tolerances when it comes to drone. I must say that I've seen drone complaints way more on the 2022+ MBRP versus the 2022+ Borla.

My Borla did mellow out after additional miles on the car, and I've heard people say the same on other exhaust systems as well. Hopefully you'll see the MBRP drone mellow out too. You could also try adding some sound deadening material under the trunk--I know others have done that previously.

Agreed about fuel consumption. I pretty much always drive in Eco mode for normal day to day stuff, and especially if I'm doing a road trip. I know its a performance car, but I like saving on gas $$$ where I can. I'll switch to Sport mode when I want to hear the exhaust better and do some spirited driving.

You didn't want to add exhaust tips to the mufflers? They will definitely help with the in cabin sound. Sound deadening in trunk I did as well but not the entire area. Does help slightly.

But yes it's true that the mbrp active exhaust definitely has more drone than the borla active since I've experienced both on my car. The borla also works better with catless secondaries with less drone but does get pretty raspy. It is REALLY loud with catless secondaries, even slightly louder than borla. The mbrp resonators do take the rasp and most of the drone away (it's still there somewhat) but really make the exhaust very quiet and kill some of the unique frequencies it produces.

The mbrp does mellow out after a while. The beginning was pretty brutal especially going uphill. Valves open had this unbearable booming sound that gave me a headache. After it mellowed out it became less and now since I am tuned it is even less especially with valves closed (I use a valve controller to manually close and open them). As long as you happy that's all that matters anyway. 😁

Appreciate you chiming in, I'm aware of your modification journey haha.

I like that it's not immediately obvious that the car has a modified exhaust - that was a primary factor. Whereas with tips, that is not the case. However, I get that having continuity to the outside of the rear would make a difference, such as with tips.

I agree about the exhaust mellowing out, this has already started happening which is cool.
