Need some assistance from the community!

So I got a flat over the weekend on my snow tire. The low tire pressure light came on and warned me of which tire had the flat. Since the weather is getting better, I decided to swap all 4 tires to my summer tires. After that, the low tire pressure light still remained even after driving for over 30 min. and confirming that my summer tires' PSI were all good.

What I've tried:
Taking it to the dealership - they attempted to reset my TPMS sensors but didn't work.
Disconnected the battery for 15 min., hoping the system would reset - didn't work.

I've read on some cars, there's physical reset buttons for the low tire pressure warning. Some are hidden below the steering wheel. Does anyone know how to reset the TPMS on a Stinger?

Looking to make your Stinger unique? Here's the place to do it...
No button I am aware of. When I had a low tire warning (when we had some really cold weather), I just added air and it went away after a minute of driving.

The manual says to consult a dealer if it stays on, so you might want to call the KIA helpline if the dealer can't figure it out.

But, it isn't low; 35 psi all around; it just "thinks" it's low.o_O As long as it is showing that the psi is up, the other warnings are annoying mysteries but not critical. I'd try swapping out the TPMS.

The low tire pressure warning light does not flash. The tire icon flashes. It's annoying but I know it's a false alert. I wonder if the system is looking specifically for the TPMS sensor that was associated with the flat tire.

Mine did this after the dealer rotated the tires and didn't adjust the pressures. I thought I was going to have to take it in but after 2 days of driving it reset itself. I'll wait to see if it comes back again.

I had this issue and the solution was to get the tire PSI up above 37 psi. Once you do and drive around a bit the TPMS warning will go away. Then you can reduce to your desired pressure. For whatever reason, once the low pressure warning is tripped it won't go away until the pressure goes above 37 psi (at least that was my experience).

Hope that helps.

Had this issue before swapping wheels and then right after the temps dropped at the beginning of winter. I ended up over inflating (from what I usually have them set at) and drove a mile or so and the warning went away. Adjusted the pressure down where I wanted it afterwards.

Most recently, I changed to a new wheel package and tires were @ 32psi. Light came on after a few miles. I increased the PSI to 35 where I normally have it and took about two weeks or about 400 miles and the light as gone away.

+1 on this. You need to bring the tire pressures up to pretty much the pressures listed on the door label. The warning won't go away until you do. Yes, it's annoying. There is no other way that I'm aware of to override this.

Thanks! Gonna give this a try.

Just ran into this issue yesterday and the dealer wanted $50 to fix the problem. I'm glad I looked here first. Got it fixed in 10 minutes.

Thanks, guys!

What "problem" (cause) did that dealer say it was? Fifty bucks for what?

They were going to diagnose the issue for "free" and maybe reset/retrain the TPMS system. All I thought it needed was the code to be cleared since the computer was still reading tire pressures correctly.

What trim car do you have, what oem tire/wheel sizes, what size now, and what exact pressures front and back did you use?

Just the GT, 19" 225 front 255 back, check yesterday 36psi now20201114_111542.webp

So for it to reset, it HAS to go right up to, or above, the recommended PSI, as the TPMS sees it. If the door jamb says 36PSI for all 4 tires, the light won't reset until you hit 36PSI on all tires, and drive for a few minutes. Even getting super close, like 35PSI, won't reset it.

Super stupid. I've had it go off because I parked one tire in a pile of ice water (dumped out a cooler), and I had to fill all my tires back up to factory (I like to keep them 2 psi low, got some weird wear at factory PSI) to get it to shut off, even though the tire was back to "normal" a few minutes of driving later.
