3.3TT Kia Stinger 3.3TT SSR Downpipes +30WHP / +26WTQ NO TUNE!!!!! Dyno Runs and Testing

Good idea for the bolts @St1nger Guy! Got a link or pic of the ones you purchased?
I went to Lowes and picked them up, I can't remember the size now but if you measure the slot on the SSR pipe and try to get it close to that diameter with about 2" of thread length you should be good to go. If you really wanted to do it right get flat washers for both sides and maybe locks for the side with the nut. The slots are large. I may get mine back on the lift and do this as well. Everything has been holding without issue though, no leaks.

+1
argh
i have no air tools and just tried doing this on the ground
pretty bummed i couldn't get enough leverage on the rear bolts to break them loose.
front 4 managed to get out with just a rachet. but rear no go couldn't get enough leverage or space for a breaker bar
will need to bring to shop they will prob get done < 30 mins
edit: screw it just bought a high torque impact wrench online
should make rear bolts a breeze
will get r done
muhahahahahah muhahahaha

@Hojae84....congratulations.
Dumb question...are those the secondary catalytic converters???...Thanks

Got these installed yesterday! I really like the results.

My aftermarket catback got a little louder, but not a lot (you can read a more detailed review in the ARK GRiP exhaust review thread), and also actually lost a little bit of drone surprisingly enough.

I also can definitely feel a subtle power increase. I do believe in placebo, and I will not say that it is worlds different. I can say though that with 100% certainty it is a difference that can be felt for those who really know their car and how it drives.

Hope everyone else is enjoying/will enjoy this mod!

Anyone, how long did installation take?

Took me about two hours or so as I didn't have breaker bars or a rattle gun so I was relying on pure anger and gorilla strength to loosen the nuts

its a 90-120 minute project the first time... to repeat i'd say 45

Highly suggest using decent strength impact
Space is tight underneath hard to get leverage to break bolts loose

Thank you. I think I'll have the Top Tech's Garage, where I'm getting my Dyno done install mine. At $65.00/hr labor, I'm figuring that's a good investment. They have the lift, all the tools, and the know how. Should be pretty cheap, especially considering the Broken knuckle savings.

I hope so. I have his cell number and already texted him today to confirm and to discuss the downpipes install...the hope of more work to make him feel more buy-in. I'm not just another consumer on the calendar.

are you trying to get before and after downpipe pulls? That would be really interesting to see.

Yes, this time I'll get a stock pull, plus two tuned pulls. Then, after the downpipes I'll get a tune update if needed, then three more pulls with the full downpipes plus tune.

With a lift, a proper impact and a friend it can be done in 30 minutes. Add an additional 30 minutes for each of those things you lack, and a lot of swear words.
Haha this is exactly accurate! I had an impact gun but no friend, and it took me around an hour. I also had to swear a few times due to the lack of space and the awkwardness of working upside down laying on my back

What method are people using without a lift? Can ramps get you high enough with a crawler? Got all the time in the world... But one floor jack and two stands. Thinking about ramps if they help....
