Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 0-60 MPH Times

That is sick. I'm waiting on John to finish his new map . Is that it? My launch was worse...that was e- brake released a little over 2k. I did it on a rest stop on ramp, so had to be cautious. Good run, but launch could've been better. Had to let off the throttle at about 105 and still managed a 12.12 1/4..gotta love those cold southern nights lol. I'm jb4, intake, agency Power fmic & bov, E25, midpipe secondary delete, MBRP. How do you like the tork tune, how is it as a daily driver?

I'm running the latest Tork test tune which is the in progress stage 1+. I think its great daily driver. He is still working on it. Only thing that is not perfect that I see is hard but not full throttle where you don't get kick down so low RPM high boost, can over boost a bit. Not full limp mode but its not perfect. But if you go up to 1/2 throttle or all in it works great which is pretty typical driving for me.
I think he wants to run a little more boost and do even more on LC but not exactly sure what his criteria is before he releases. I've been running different versions of the beta for about a year.

In your first screenshot we’re seeing a very severe decrease in acceleration at low speed. Is this attributed to wheelspin, over boost or something else?

Reason I ask is I’m using the RC GTS, as you know, and during my quickest 0-60 I was seeing a lot of large swings in acceleration outside of any shift points and I’m trying to determine why that is. Unfortunately the RC doesn’t have any logging.

I was comparing my 0-60 run with @Gleis25 Since we both have the RC GTS and I didn’t notice such large acceleration swings for him, however I was pleased to see that I was .1 quicker from 20-60, which means if I can sort out my issues from 0-20 I could be running an easy 4s 0-60 like him. It gives me hope and I still have all stock exhaust, no snorkels or FMIC.

I know he has a leg up given that he is AWD so impossible for me to match his 60ft without John’s ECU tune, however I believe I should be closer than I am. I was a significant .4 behind him at 20.

I think the G dragy graphs are more approximate than absolute especially on small time scales. I didn't feel any acceleration drop and certainly couldn't have missed a beat to run a 3.72.
Shift time Gs are useful since the time frame is bigger but even those wont be perfect.

So the Tork Tune enhances LC. Could you elaborate on that a bit please.

Gotcha. So take that data with a grain of salt. Thank you!

I don't know how he does it but i launch at 2450 rpm and my throttle opens twice as fast. I get full by 10 mph stock by 20 mph. Still has room for more throttle. Results are best 1.81 60 foot where un snipped piggies do about a tenth slower or more, 1.95s typical.
If you snip it makes them the same but my LC is often faster than snip on the street cause too much spin even with awd. See how the orange throttle line goes straight up?

I don’t think snips are the same. Maybe some people’s snipped 60 foot are around 1.8, but I’m typically lower than that. 1.6_s... 1.7 or 1.8 if I spin. AWD GT here.

My LC is now 1.81, my mellow snip mode is 1.74 and i havent gotten the agressive snip mode to hook yet.
Mellow snip is hitting .4 0-10 which is in line with the best agressive snips but the throttle open is delayed to 20 mph.
The mellow snip launch is perfect and easy, just need that throttle to open faster like lc does. No spin and i can mash the throttle just like LC.
I agree and have seen a few other awd snippers closer to 1.75 60s.

What is your snip launch technique? Ive been trying half throttle or less and then roll on throttle quickly. But its been 50s or less so not ideal traction.

A am full throttle and brake as soon as the first amber goes. Then, I’m off the brake at the final amber. Typically, that gets me to 2500rpm at launch.

Mine is much more agressive.
I do the same on the lights in my mild snip mode and hit 2800.
If i did that on agressive mode the rears would start spinning in place before the third yellow lit.

Yeah. My wheels spin before I let off, at least when the auto stop/start “A” is blinking. It will sometimes rev up to 2800 during my launch procedure, too, and if that happens I spin all four at launch and the run is basically ruined.

You can get an OBD dongle from Amazon for $10 and the Torque app for $5 and do some decent logging.

So you get 2 modes also? When the "A" flashes its way more aggressive. Either way i get 2800 but when the "A" flashes i get 10-12 PSI and full throttle and if not its 5-7 PSi and about 40% throttle. No spin ever in the mild snip mode.

Yeah. Two modes. The blinking “A” mode would be sick if we could wrangle it in. The milder mode is good for now. It’s hot of miss with spin. If it’s cold enough to make my stock 19s hockey pucks, then I’ll spin. Sometimes it’s fine, but if I get too much spin, the car dies for a millisecond and I get like a 2 second sixty foot.

What range of 60s do you get with the mild mode? Was the 1.6 un usual?

Sorry for the newb question but what obd reader should I get if I use iOS?

I want to get in on the fun haha. & do you guys just leave it plugged in all the time?

Get an obd reader if you want to do data logging. Get a Dragy if you want to measure performannce. Its a cool device and they have a kia section on their leader boards and you can make videos with the performance info over layed.
OBD perf is so far off its not worth while. Burger Motorsports and K8 Stinger store sell dragy.
Not many racers so far in November.
