Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 0-60 MPH Times

Since you are at 4.2 with just an ecu flash and are adding more mods, we should get you a loaner dragy when you approach top 3 or sub 4 seconds since your g meeter doesn't have slope. Sound fair?

I will be visiting a strip regularly, if that counts. If a local has a Dragy to allow me to compare, I'm happy to try that as well.

Bologna. We said dragy verified.

Slope is the hardest part of this to get right and even a MINOR deviation at the beginning of the run takes loads off. I have multiple 4.12s <2% slope. Make the rules the same for everyone or what's the point.

I did check if Dragy was required, I don't see it, but if other members want my numbers pulled, whatever. I am mod'ing for fun at the strip with my daughter, not for bragging rights on this forum.

I feel you. I just don't like seeing people getting booted for times that could be completely invalid. Nothing against you. Like I said, I have times that are a good bit lower than my posted time BARELY out of valid and I'm sure others do too. There are spots I think are perfect and dragy says no.

Finding the spot is harder than making the run. Dragy is a cruel bitch. How about I send you mine on Monday? I'll pay to send it there, you pay to send it back?

I didn't say dragy was required, just an accurate purpose built measuring device and no OBD. That said, I didn't think about slope. This is meant to be fun and a mod comparison. We can be more hard core on the 1/4 mile thread. This is the fun and inclusive thread. I'll expand the top 10 to 12 so we don't boot anyone unfairly and also see a bigger variety of cars since we are bunching up in the low 4s.
Thanks for offering to send the dragy Blitz! I'd do the same but have some tune testing coming up this week or next and wanting to beat my 1/4 best by mid Feb.

Yes, a 0-60 during your 1/4 mile would work also. But you can probably get a bit faster with dragy in some cool weather and no waiting in line.

Thx. I'd rather defer that offer until I get my next significant mod installed, so I could use it to validate before/after runs.

That said - what are the Dragy limits for "valid"? I used USGS topo info to verify that a 1.2 mile stretch of interstate close to me has near identical starting and ending elevation. The ground level has a 40' dip roughly in the middle, but the highway is elevated over that point, there is a major road running below. Call it a 10' dip in the highway. So a 1/4 mile run from the entrance ramp on either end dips by no more than 5', that's about 0.4%. The emergency lane has less than ideal traction, so I consider that a fair compromise.

0-60 is MUCH more stringent on dragy than 1/8 or 1/4. You are only allowed a 1% drop in elevation over the "track". Another benefit of grabbing a dragy at least for a bit, is that you could find somewhere that dragy qualifies as fair and use the same starting point with your other device and KNOW you have valid runs.

Tonka knows the exacts but it's only a couple of feet that you can drop during your 0-60 and it will invalidate the whole run, no matter where you end.

The slope is the difference between start and end. So there could be a big hill or dip in the middle as long as it ends within 12.3 feet for the quarter and 60 foot depends on how fast you are. But we are all in the 1.8 to 2.5 feet limit for 0-60. (180 to 250 foot runs) That said dagy is terrible at elevation. The same spot can go in and out of valid and I've seen variations by up to 1% on the same piece of road. My favorite 1/4 mile track was reading -.35 to -.99 but now is -.5 to - 1.5 but more often -1.3 to -1.5. Good rule if thumb for both 0-60 and 1/4 mile is no visible slope.

Interesting. Learned something new.

Here is a good roller coaster example. Old track from back in November. Had a turn to boot.
