Drag/Acceleration Kia Stinger 0-60 MPH Times

TEXAS
I did get an invalid run....last run launch control fizzled out on me as I left the nose dove down a bit but then took off on a crappy run invalid 4.92 0 to60 -2.06% slope.
but a valid ..8.50 1/8 -0.99% slope 88.46 mph this was run 3 so I guess you can have an invalid0to60 within a valid 1/8 run....so why the big slope deviation?

hell ill type em now post pic of slips and draggy tomorrow
so run 3 you have it was invalid on the 0 to 60 because of that wild slope but valid in the 1/8

run1 map2 Draggy Sez.....8.22 1/8 0.05% 89.88 mph 2.13 60ft 0to60 4.64 -86% slope
run2 map3 Dragy Sez..... 8.27 1/8 -0.40% 88.99 mph -0.40% slope 2.10 60ft

ill post time slips here tomorrow Wash

So slopes changed every time on the same track and same lane? Thats good to know. So if you go down hill for your 0-60 or up to 1/8 but straighten it out for the 1/4 mil your times are still valid.... Well glad I got my draggy for cheap lol.

The elevation doesn't have the same precision as the other axis so you'll see a small variance in slope using the same road over and over. For shorter runs like 0-60mph even a small elevation change can throw you out of the 1% verified.

Well guys it’s official I need new tires haha XD

It's using a satellite fix to derive altitude, and even with multiple satellites that is the least accurate number that a top down fix can provide.

I've found a couple stretches of road that are very close to flat, and that's what I use for testing. The dragy slope value does vary somewhat, but the large majority of the time it reflects that it's a very minimal slope (+/- less than 1 degree). That lets me compare results with me, which is the primary reason I bought it. Remarkable tool.

Considering timing results from various drag strips as somehow a more 'valid' car to car comparison doesn't hold up. You're still looking at differences between tracks in slope, temperature, surface, traction, timing equipment and true density altitude. Any times obtained, either through track timing or dragy, are going to have date and location specific factors weighing on the car's performance that make any time comparisons a rough (but informational) benchmark at best.

I enjoy seeing times from both. It's entertaining and very informative, and gives a rough idea on the effects of various performance modifications - but the numbers are only accurate for that day, time and location (conditions).

Exactly. GPS satellites are not in geosynchronous or geostationary orbits, contrary to popular belief, and the system is only designed to be accurate to within 100m across the ground, and 140m vertically. Some clever tricks can help stationary or slow-moving receivers get a LOT more accuracy, but considering the satellites are moving at thousands of miles per hour in different directions relative to any point on earth, it's hard to expect a portable hand-held device to have a high degree of accuracy while being hurtled across the ground..

.. which is why I am happy with my antiquated-but-purpose-built accelerometer solution which was quite expensive when new. But still, will look forward to comparing its readings to the ticket when the strip opens again..

That's a good gauge for your own records, but it can't be compared to a Dragy IMO since it's not using GPS like a Dragy does. Also, we don't know if it's calculating the 1ft rollout which the official Dragy time does NOT take into account.

I used to run those GTECH and other accelerator based systems back in the day before GPS. They are ok but not nearly as accurate. At the end of the day just another tool but definitely get a dragy if you don't have one already. It's only $149 and a ton of fun. :)

Okay sorry for delay but ive been getting my new cell up to speed...what a drag!
heres the 1/8 mile draggy runs....the 0to 60 are in another folder on draggy...so after posting Draggy ill post up time slips...they gave me yellow copies hope yall can make em out...ill try to edit and give them more brightness.... maybe some one could arrange the slips and Draggy for better comparison? Wash run 1.webp run2.webp run3.webp

they are in order left to right 1-2-3 last run it was the ol launch control boogering me
my screen shot cut off the valid run...they are valid ill post that part if yall want....okay lemme get the slips in order

Wash great and great info ...whats was 1/4 mile time?....expect all draggy owners and people who had great times on dragy to go bat shit crazy on you.....I have let everyone know that we will protect you at all costs.....over and out!!!!

Almost a tenth fast for dragy on that one is disappointing. Seems the trap speeds are much closer than the ETs.

Angel thanks for the protection....lol it was an 1/8th mile track only all concrete brand new maybe one year old.......does everyone that has a dragy, have the" lucky you are our beta tester version" on theirs?maybe that's the problem...im trying to give the dragy the benefit of doubt,I was pre staging light on..hitting the reset on dragy inching to staged....and then of course getting killed on the reaction time....lol....so I hope I gave dragy a fair shot. :) Wash

and not to forget...the JB4 rocked....the car pulled hard and was pulling awesome at the 1/8 finish. I cant wait to run the 1/4 mile because of the car coming on really nice as it shifted to third right before the finish. im disappointed that I must have screwd up the logging somehow on the JB4 cause there were no logs....stooopid me....ill get some more runs in the coming weeks

Dont worry about hitting reset that just clears the screen. The car comming to a stop after staging will automatically reset.

THANKS ! geez ill remember that...that's a lot for an old phart to do at staging...lol :) Wash

Open the JB4 app. Make sure it's set to record when 90% throttle. "Minimize" it. Open the dragy app and let it connect and sync sats. You now have NOTHING to worry about. You can drive around and whenever you want launch your car and both will record what they are supposed to.

Blitz Thanks ! yep that's how ive got it set up 90% throttle connected and minimized dragy up on the screen....never had that problem on the street...im sure I screwd the pooch on that somehow....Hell I was high on alky fumes and VP race gas...... I "pitted" lol next to a 427 ac cobra with twin nitrous tanks in the right seat side....they had the motorhome and big time hauler....its got a 450 shot into the 427..so they were plugging into the ecu with the lap top...and not getting a connection...so I said lemme get some usb cables from my car...they were freaking out cause they couldn't connect....lol....first one I gave them nope didn't work...so I give them another ....bingo...connection! they said I could pit with them anywhere anytime....lol

Hi Blitz

Dos that work on a iphone ?

Thanks

I run both on my android any time I'm racing. Works fine with either in foreground. If you leave dragy in background too long when you switch to it, takes awhile for it to "catch up" on its processing.

On iphone I have for sure had it miss runs in the background. Not sure why but I always keep it in the foreground now, because JB4 never misses.
