I agree, that’s why I’m asking for opinions on them since people have been running them in their Stingers for 3 months especially in US summer, gives me some foresight before our summer kicks in.

Thanks for your input, your honest opinion is appreciated, they are AU$108 each Filter + AU$20 for cleaner/oil spray kit, KIA Service Manual has OE Filter change for Turbo Engines @ 30,000kms intervals so line ball on money saved over life of car if I opt out of it at 120,000kms.I didn't notice any performance increase from the drop-ins. They'll save you money on filter changes over the life of the car though.

Yes filter changes would be part of the fixed price servicing as these are listed at logbook service intervals. I would keep OE filters, when change out service was due put the old OE filters back in so they get replaced & during this period clean the K&N filters then change out after service is complete, thus leaving an OE fresh set at home.Just a thought, with the capped price servicing we have in Oz is the cost of replacement filters already factored in to the set price? Or do they tack that on top as an extra. If it’s already factored in and you instal the drop ins I doubt the dealer will reduce the cost of the service to reflect the savings they make by not having to change air filters. They’ll just pocket the difference.

I just keep them in large zip lock bags, stored in my garage ready to use at any time.Good thinking. Given that the OE filters you swap back in will be pretty clean already from not being used, maybe put a mark on them somewhere so you can verify they’ve been changed?
Oh I get you, no I’m happy to change them out & get new ones, it’s in the price so I live with it & have fresh ones on hand.I mean when you go in for the service because the OE filters will be still clean because they haven’t been used, you don’t want the mechanic to not bother changing them so maybe mark them so you can identify them.
This was exactly the same case with my turbo Civic. You could do all kinds of crazy stuff with the intake, i.e. cold air, short ram, open element cone filters.. But it would do little to nothing for performance since the inlet to the turbo was still the same size and could only handle so much air flow. Best way to maximize gains was on the back end with a catless downpipe and exhaust, or a tune. Short ram did make the turbo sound pretty sick though!Yeah I’ve been flip flopping from no to yes to no again on the CAI. I hear ya on the hot air issue. The biggest concern for me are the reports that the top end torque gains are at the expense of low end torque and it’s the low end that puts the smile on my face so I don’t want to diminish that. I’ve seen comments that the inlet duct is restrictive so that’s probably a bigger issue if the filters are roughly equal? I haven’t seen any reports of anyone enlarging the inlet.
negative on my part, dont like them.
Me Too! With nothing added (see the license plate)...I ordered these from Amazon- they show a rectangular filter for the left half. I queried the "community," but no one responded.

No change in any sound that I can hear. Stock exhaust with just the drop ins.Hello guys,
Is there someone with the stock exhaust and the k&n filters?
Ie there any change in the sound of the car/exhaust? Not the blow off or valve sound, just exhaust? I don't like the valve sound..
Sorry for my bad english![]()
