JB4 Review

Hey All,

Ordered a JB4 and wireless smart phone connection.

I will be doing a complete review of my experience with the JB4.

My Set Up:
Kia Stinger GT1
Denso Spark Plugs - Gapped to about .022
DIY - Intake (same as DYI that was listed here - 3.3TT - DIY intakes w/Heat shielding drop about 0.2sec off 0-60)
Everything else is stock.

I moved rather quickly on ordering this prior to getting new Spark Plugs and thanks to Sal @Kia Stinger, I ordered my plugs on Friday 8/3 and he shipped them to me Next Day Air to get them Saturday.

Swapped in the new plugs on Sunday. Which the job seemed worst than what it was. It honestly felt like 10-14 bolts a few clips and hoses. Took less than an hour.

Ordered the JB4, wireless connection, and the Fuel Wire on Wed 8/1 - Received it Monday 8/6. Here are some pics of the packaging:

Excited to get this started and should have the JB4 installed later tonight.

I have to still review the requirements for Map2 but I planned on starting on Map 1 for 1-2 weeks to be able to give some feed back on each Map.

Lol yup. The youtube video kind of worried me as it seemed like more work than i wanted to do personally to my car... but it wasnt that bad lol.

Yea it's hard to stay on map 1 especially because at the touch of a button you on map 2 but you're definitely going to feel that punch on map 1

Looking forward to your results! Mine just shipped out from Burger today. I have HKS plugs sitting on my desk the past two weeks. I need to get them installed before the JB4 gets delivered. Its just been so humid I don't even want work on the car.

Yea it's hard to stay on map 1 especially because at the touch of a button you on map 2 but you're definitely going to feel that punch on map 1

Im sure it will be! I will TRY my best to stay on Map 1 for a week or so.

Are you pretty good with cars ? I don’t work on them ever so I am not sure if I should just pay someone to do the plugs at some point

Assuming I get my car back from the body shop this week, I’ll be installing my JB4 and spark plugs this weekend. I also got the fuel control wires like you.

Everything is installed. Not sure what's going on with logging. I tried twice but no logs showed up...

@Terry@BMS any thoughts?

Wanted to run a log with map 0 and map 1 with my stock air filters and then again with my intake installed.

Also, @Terry@BMS do I need to run the newest firmware? I'm assuming it's up to date since I just received it Monday.

No I do believe you have to download the newest firmware do you have the bluetooth kit or are you using a laptop

You would assume if you got a new unit that it would be updated ..

And remember hit the update to upload it to the jb4 and key on engine off

I got the logging to work after I updated. However, I cant get my Gear Dial to work. It just stays on 0.

I did a few pulls this morning and not sure if I was tired but GOD DAMN! What did these monsters do to my car

Not sure how to upload graphs as when i email the logs it just comes in as an excel file.
