I made a thread awhile back about how I wanted the Stinger to become a plug in hybrid in the future. I thought it would be a few years before we would start seeing performance hybrids at reasonable prices, I was wrong, it looks like the future is today! While all the details on the 2019 S60 haven't been revealed yet, what we do know is that the new S60 T8 Polestar comes with a turbo & supercharged 2.0 4 banger with an electric engine putting out a total of 415 hp and 494 lb/ft, all battery range is somewhere between 20-30 miles, curb weight somewhere around 4,000-4,300, and an MSRP around $60k US.
Imagine a similar Stinger with the 3.3TT pushing over 450 hp and somewhere around 550 lb/ft, with 30+ miles of all electric range and better highway fuel economy after that. I don't know about you guys, but my least favorite thing with the Stinger is sitting in traffic while getting 18 MPG, which unfortunately is an hour and a half of my time in the Stinger, 5 days a week. Of course you might pay those gas savings back in new tires because that thing would roast them, especially with the addition of all that low end electric torque.
How much more would you guys pay for a Stinger "GTE" if it was available as an additional trim right now with the above specs? Would you even consider it at all?
