Injen Short Ram Intakes + aFe BladeRunner Hot & Cold Charge Pipes

I may not fully agree on that point. Depends on how you define “worth.”

The sound and feel under throttle definitely improved over stock, especially in Sport mode, even with Map1.

Would there be even more gains if I had an aftermarket FMIC? Certainly. What the charge pipes seem to do is open up the channel and make it more regular (less pinches in the bendy bits), which should improve laminar flow and induce fewer places where the pressure has to increase to pass through a restriction, ultimately keeping the air cooler, through it may only be by degrees at best.

Still sounds and looks hella cool.
Awesome man thanks for the technical insight! I'm going to go ahead and purchase the afe intake and charge pipe together

Bit of an old post but what's the consensus of these charge pipes ?
Worth it ? Feel it ?

depends on what you are looking for, but they are quality parts and a nice upgrade over the stock ones

Looking for cooler intake temps and improved throttle response since I've already upgraded the intercooler ( 3" in and out ) but these are quite expensive down under so I'm trying to guage people's overall thoughts. I know they "should be" good but sometimes mods can bring on issues like over boost etc so just cautious until I hear some real world feedback.

The charge pipe will not bring any issues to your build; theoretically, they are larger than stock, so the airflow is better. In actual day to day driving, i highly doubt it makes any difference in performance.

I have both the cold and hot side aFe charge pipes, the aFe cold air intakes and the BMS intercooler. The charge pipes are only worth it if you have an aftermarket intercooler. I'm getting a Lap3 tune in February so I'll see if the intakes, intercooler, and charge pipes make for some nice gains.
I currently have the jb4 with a backend ecu tune, all 4 cat deletes, with mbrp pro exhaust, intakes, denso plugs, just ordered bms intercooler, wmi, velosor snorkels are cold and hot pipe kit, and shark big bore throttle, when you did your charge pipe, were you running any kind of tune? I read you were going to do a lap 3, prior to that. Did you have a tune? Curious as to what I might expect. Thanks

Before the Lap3 tune I was running a racechip piggyback on 93 pump gas. With the Lap3 tune, I daily 96 gas (93 mixed with a 4fl oz Boostane shot).

I have to get it dyno'ed again but I post my results from when I dyno'ed with the Racechip.

Thank you, I haven't been disappointed with the jb4 and Tork Motorsports back end flash, i put my car on a mustang dyno after I did ark downpipes and exhaust. I was running map4 and 92 and boostane approximately 96 octane 5.4 to 15gal of 92 pump gas. I wish I hadn't lost the files the shop sent me. They were some email that opened with Google. Had a short video and charts with it. it was around 450 whp 560 ft. lbs. My 18 is awd gt2. I'm excited for the charge pipes and intercooler. I also picked up the bms Axle brace, i see you have also. I will eventually do the rod bolt upgrade, with head studies and gaskets. At that point is when I'll switch to only running an ecu tune. I like what Tork has accomplished with their stinger and will probably do their stage 2+, I currently have their stage 1 tcu tune, what a huge difference. It's a lot of fun! Looking forward to seeing the results with your lap3.

I found my dyno file. My memory wasn't totally off my whp was 418

At this time, denso plugs .022, jb4 "map 4" approximately 96octane, intakes, backend flash tune, ark downpipes, mbrp pro cat back. In another month or so, when I get everything done installed and book a dyno run I'll post the results. Shooting for 500+ whp
