{{ ImportShark }} NEW! NGM's Two New Axleback Exhausts

Man, I was thinking of having a custom sleeper exhaust built but $500 is a helluva price!

I'm guessing there's a substantial amount of drone with these right?

$500 shipped(ballpark) for the system with mufflers?
It should be right in that price range for either version, yes. I'm hoping for a tad less depending on shipping but it's a very safe estimate

The difference is more than that...we’re just purchasing a higher quantity of the Omega and are getting a better price on it that’s all.

I'm expecting them to be around $500 shipped.

Yes, I'll have a bunch more vids posted soon enough.
Thanks for the update.

Also just curious if switching to the multiple pieces was the reason for the cost increase over the initial listed price? Please don't get me wrong and $500 shipped still seems like a good deal, however I remember that these were listed for moderately less on your website prior to the change. I'd be happy to pay a little extra for shipping to keep it in one piece if that would save on the total cost. Let me know either way and I look forward to watching as many videos as you can make!:D

One of them (Zeta) is just muffler deletes in a box. If saving money and wanting it all in one piece is important you can have a muffler shop build a "Zeta" for under $200.

I noticed Mike ignored my post, but I guarantee when we start seeing in-cabin cruising videos of the Zeta (and probably Omega) there will be a metric ass ton of drone revealed.

What is the piping diameter? Any dyno done to show performance improvements if any?

I understand and that’s actually part of the reason why I questioned the price increase. Initially, the listed price for the Zeta was almost exactly the numbers you provided(+shipping), so I was just wondering why else the cost could have doubled.

I’d prefer it in one piece to avoid clamp vibrations issues and possible buffering from diameter differences, but not a deal breaker if it’s a top quality product. I’d also rather support one of our Vendors than a local muffler shop if costs are similar. Of course I would like to save money but that wasn’t the main reason I questioned the price change.

No offense but I hope you’re wrong about the drone even though it won’t make much difference in my situation. 80%+ of my travel is city driving so luckily long distances at one RPM would be next to none. Also in my experience drone is more prone on full cat-back exhausts which is another reason I’m considering the axle-back at this point. But I do look forward to the videos as that will help determine the sound differences between stock, axle-back and cat-backs available.

I’m not sure why but I do think the sound from the Zeta is the best I’ve heard so far, even over the top cat-backs.:thumbup:But time will tell and I look forward to learning and hearing more.:D

I agree the Zeta sounds great. I don't think my wife or neighbors would be happy about a muffler deleted car though.

Regarding the drone, no offense taken. I hope I'm wrong.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE!
The axlebacks are now available for pre-order. Due to feedback from the community, they have decided to offer the single-pipe units first and will likely proceed with the split-section option later since they're snagged in R&D with that. They expect to have two versions of EACH--one with a single pipe and one with the multi-pipe for reducing shipping costs.

Omega cluck here

PS: I will do my best to get more vids up asap. My car has been in different shops for R&D use the past several weeks, so I haven't had an opportunity to film more.

They were going back and forth about 2.25" and 2.5", but ended up with 2.5" T304. No dyno yet unfortunately.

There was never pricing posted previously. Did I mention an estimate somewhere? I checked around and did not see anything. As per the update above, the single pipe (not clamped) versions are being started on right now. A big reason for this is actually due to feedback from community members such as yourself. NGM is also taking more time than they hoped getting the split-pipe version done, so they just figured they'd go with what they got for now and offer a second version of each not too far down the road.

It's not ridiculously loud actually. I've got some finicky neighbors and nobody complained when I was running around with the Zeta on my car for a while. While there is a bit of drone at about 3500rpm's, that's not where you'd be cruising on the highway, so it ended up being negligible. The car shifts right around there anyway, so I was happy it wasn't annoying or constant in the least. (Amen for that because I get headaches easily!)

Myself I am going to want to see and hear video as well as dyno runs before ordering anything.

Vids are already posted

3500 rpm I can live with though I just tinkered with a custom MF setup (looks similar to Omega) and it's drone-hell between 1500-2400 rpm even in city driving. Granted, the smallest differences in design and sizes makes all the difference, but 100% agree with Well Stung on the need for an interior sound video to secure more purchases. ;)

On a related note, does pricing to Canada include customs/duties? Thanks

These are being shipped direct from our Asia warehouse for the time being since that will help keep the price down for people outside North America. We’re using EMS, which gets delivered through the post office. Same way we deliver a ton of parts in other markets, and I’ve never actually heard of Canada delivery fees being added. Either way if there are customs charges, the shipment value is always marked down to a ridiculously low level, so it will be minimal.
