I was looking at Tire Rack today to see what a set of new tires is going to cost me when the time comes. I searched by Model, 2018 Stinger GT and the list of tires came up. I then sorted by customer rating. The price alone makes this a no-brainer when the second highest rated tire is literally half the price of the first rated tire.
If that isn't enough for you, here is some more information. In the Asian markets, the Indy 500 tire is branded the Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE003 and is rated highly there. Having driven the Firestone Indy 500s on my last car (Lexus ISF), I preferred them over the Michelin PSS that many drove before the PS4S came out.
Lastly, It seems Michelin may be having some cold-weather issues with their PS4S. Many have stated, on other forums, that below 45 degrees F the tires are downright scary because of low traction. If the cracking shown in the photos is the PS4S, then they won't be going back on my car even if they were free. Similar issues have been reported with Pirelli tires in cold climates. I never had any cold weather issues with my Bridgestone summer compound tires (S-04s and Indy 500s) that prevented driving in temps above 30 degrees.
