As others have mentioned, they are not always keen on doing this. How to remove the Kia badge and installed the E badge on the hood?
Pay the dealership 60 bucks to do the hood, the rear and change out the center caps![]()
Go to a reputable body shop, they do this stuff everyday & they would know all the tricks & it should be done with a minimum of fuss.
Man dealerships are the worst... I'm really not looking forward to calling these people tomorrow for my problem. I can practically feel that it's gonna be a fight.
my dealership had done quite a few of the badge switch outs. Came out perfect. I've had nothing but good experiences with my dealership.
Count yourself lucky. Many would not want to deal with it. In many instances it's just ignorance. A genuine lack of knowledge both of the process and of whether or not it would keep a car in warranty. As ridiculous as that sounds, I guarantee there's a dealership out there somewhere that thinks a badge swap will void a warranty.my dealership had done quite a few of the badge switch outs. Before I asked them to do it, I asked some questions. They had done quite a few, they knew they wanted them without the posts cause it was easier and they knew that they didnt like putting the big Stinger insignia in the back cause of the hole matchups. I didn't end up wanting that anyway, so it was fine. They also knew that it didnt mess up any part of the warranty and if it did, the they wouldn't have done it.Count yourself lucky. Looks to me like he got the clear bra too warm. Might be able to heat it back up and smooth it out. Or a clear bra install could remove and replaceSo I changed out my front Kia badge with the new E badge but a serious problem happened. My brother who drives and Audi S5 Sportback said that he would do it for me because he changed out all of his badges for carbon fiber ones using his shitty heat gun. When he started heating the Kia badge he left it on the highest setting and while he was going back and forth trying not to leave it in on one spot for too long, I immediately started to notice the right side of the paint start wrinkling! So I slapped that shit out of his hand and started throwing expletives at him. I only ever used wedges when I take badges off never any heat tools when I did it for my old BMW 530i and also my Genesis Coupe.
I wanted to ask the community if this damage is fixable by wet sanding/buffing with polish.
If you can see in the picture it created a weird ripple kind of effect.
Any advice would help a lot. I was already told by a detailing shop that it may just have to be sanded all the way down and just repaint that area. Fack!!!
Edit: I also believe my car came the the paint protection add on.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing you're talkin about but still to scared to even attempt it. Thanks for lookin out tho my stinger brothaYou need to determine if you have the ppf on there, but if you do, I have a thought. You could try gently warming that spot until the rippled area is softened to the touch, then hitting it with something cold like a can of aerosol spray designed for dusting off things like keyboards. Even a spray liquid that gets really cold when sprayed out. That might "shrink" the film back down, at least enough to make it less noticeable.
Like I said, just a thought..
