How to remove the Kia badge and install the E badge on the Kia Stinger hood

I thought the painters tape around the badge was a good idea as well only to find after the installation with the new badge on (rear Stinger one), that the tape had a slight textured finish and this showed up by leaving a slight mark in the paint.
It was however a 2 month old car from factory plant to my door so it was more than likely not sufficiently hardened enough to have pressure applied to it.....but all is good, only I know.

I got the Black KLexus carbon badge and it does not have studs. Do I just need to measure precisely to put it back on and centered? Or do I need to get another badge with studs?
Just align by eye. That's what everyone does. None of the alternative design emblems have the alignment pins. Hyundai and Kia are the only manufacturers that even still use them at all.

I recommend using a hair dryer. I removed my back Kia badge with fishing line and the front with dental floss. I had a couple scratches on the back and no scratches on the front. So you may want to use dental floss for a while and when you stop making process switch to fishing line.
What's the trick to getting the glue off with minimal-to-no damage to paint?

No tricks - just patience. I used my thumb and scrubbed back and forth for about 20 minutes lol. And of course some of the paint peeled off with the tape....Now I have to get the oval style 'E' badge.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I tried fishing line and dental floss but those both broke easily.

I ended up cutting a few feet of nylon rope and untwisting it to get smaller strands and then untwisting those to get even smaller strands and used those to saw threw the adhesive. Much more durable! I would saw till they got gummed up and grab another strand and keep sawing. Made the process so much easier but getting the adhesive off after that was still..."fun".
