How to permanently turn off the Auto Start/Stop button

There are probably a 100 different ways to keep the button pressed, but a little piece of tape will solve it immediately. The end result is the same, except you only spent 5 seconds of your day.

Looks like a nice solution, other than having to spice into the existing harness. If someone comes up with a combination module that uses a plug-and-play connection method that will probably be a popular item.
Agree, those are super thin/delicate wires, even when using wire quick splices.
Tomorrow I’m having to the heated/cool seats and heated steering wheel added to my drone. remote start. The little circuit they have listed on this site would be great, except I’d have to remember to turn everything on before I turn the car off...which would never happen.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Kia really should of made this a ''driver if needed'' switch. I'll just keep pressing it down when it stalls at the first light which happens at least once a week.

"Research has shown" that aging drivers who go through a startup routine (aka a checklist) have a reduced incidence of dementia. ;) So, I just push the Start button, then the very next thing I do is turn off ISG (Idle Stop and Go). Is that so hard to remember?
Then go into sport and turn off traction control, that’s mine lol.

Funny. I also have a sequence of buttons to push immediately after a start (more buttons after a cold start), but now one less to push since I took and modified the idea of keeping the ISS button pressed down.

This was one of the most important questions I asked the dealer when I was evaluating the car, does it have auto start stop? Turns out in Australia this was rejected by Kia Australia as an option so was never put on Australian cars, we got lucky here because this is a feature that just ruins the experience of this type of car. And the fuel saving argument for it with other brands is just rubbish. IMHO.

It makes a difference in the standardized tests they use to establish fuel economy ratings. That's all the matters, and the only reason the feature is on the car (and active on start up) in the first place. :)

Yes but as we all don't drive in laboratories  I call <insert swearing emoji> :D on the standardised tests also. Cheers.

Do what I do drive in manual mode, hate the auto trans, 7th gear at 45mph? Car sounds like shit auto shifting non stop.
Yeah in Australia we don't have a manual mode you can change manually with the paddles but we don't have the conventional option where you push the shifter left or right to go into "manual Model". So the paddle shift will change down, but

I'm so glad they did not push that garbage stop start on us in Straya. I only needed to know because it comes down to how much work I'd have to do to fix it.

My last car was a Subaru Liberty (Legacy for Merica) STI, I used ROM RAIDER and OBDII USB Interface and wrote my own engine maps for all 3, Intelligent, Sport and Sport Sharp, Subaru only change the throttle response Intelligent = 40%, Sport = 65% and Sport Sharp = 100% throttle opening, after I remapped my Subaru ECU I had 3 Turbo boost levels, and 3 real personalities for the car, same as the COBB system in the US, but without the exorbitant price.

I'd do the same for the Stinger as required, to switch off the Engine Stop Start in the ECU, but not required as Straya cars don't have this feature so happy days.

Reality is the cars between US and Australia are so different that most of what you have in the US is not relevant to what we have in Australia.

Cheers and peace to all.

Aftermarket module is available in Korea with memory function so it remembers last user setting even after iginition key cycle.
It's simple wiring work, but the center console cover trim needs to be removed.
I found this on one of the Stinger forum in Korea and I am planning to do it when it gets warmer.

Would be great if it would remember “Sport” mode. I like using the Drone app to turn on heated/cool seats and heated steering wheel, because I’ll never remember to turn them on just before turning of the car. That sounds like a great little module though.

the reason they don't remember sport mode is most likely to protect the car for cold start. Many of the cars I have with dynamic engine mapping do this. I've never seen one allow you to start in sport and with Subaru, and Audi, it wont allow you to switch to sport until the engine has warmed up properly. It's actually a good idea.

Ohh very interesting! Makes sense, thanks for the info :)

What a interesting and logical reasoning for the reversal to non-sport mode after engine shut off.... but why don't they remember i don't want the idle-stop-go thing at start up... so annoying.
