Where did you come across this "workshop manual" ?
When you say "parallel" to the door, do you mean along the pillar (sort of "upwards") or do you mean straight down?Pull the top part straight out to remove the clip. Then slide the entire A pillar parallel to the door to remove the middle clip.

Yup! I figured out that's the best way to do it. Had to poke the cable behind the airbag, but got it all routed.I didn't need to remove the panel entirely - i just ran the cables down behind the door seal - then ran the cables in via the side of the dashboard.
However to get the panel off entirely it's the same process to begin with by pulling at the top of the trim.
Then once it's hanging loose at the top; you should be able to unhook (slide out) the top clip from the trim.
The trim panel will then be free to lift upwards & out (at a slight angle, etc).
