Just curious, did you ever get any live codes? And I’ve read this whole thread like 3 times. But did the pwms fix the
ambient lighting issue for you or just the flickering? I haven’t noticed if I have that issue at all (or just not yet) I also never change the colors though. I have only had the driver door panel lights flickering and my mirrors keep adjusting themselves while I’m in reverse. I’m just trying to get as much info as I can before I go to the dealer where I bought my stinger 3 hours away.
No live codes yet.
The driver door switch lights haven't flickered since I posted 2 weeks ago. The dealership and Kia treated the door switch lights flickering and the
ambient lighting as 2 separate issues with the
ambient lighting never being addressed (that said, I haven't had any issues with it since last April). The new PWMS was supposed to address the flickering door switch lights, which it may have done for nearly 10 months. HOWEVER, the reason I can't absolutely say the new PWMS fixed the issue is that prior to them replacing it, the flickering would go months between incidents. With a 4 or more month gap between times it happened, it's hard to confidently say that the PWMS was the problem. The tech said there was a short in the original one, but, who really knows if that was true or them just saying that to get Kia to approve a new part and get the car back to me.
Also, in the past 2 weeks since my flickering came back on the driver door and my
ambient lighting issue, I have had all of my interior lighting flicker off and then back on twice now. Once, I was coming to a stop at the end of an off ramp. All the interior lights turned off and then immediately back on. The second time was 2 nights ago pulling out of my neighborhood; came to a stop and all interior lights went off then immediately back on. The drive mode also changed from ECO to Comfort. I can't remember if my headlights went off or not as the whole thing was so sudden and unexpected.
Next step is to get the battery and alternator tested at a parts store. I checked the battery with my multimeter today and it read 12.03V car off and 14.34V car running with radio, heated seats, etc. But I want both checked with hopefully a better reader than what I have. After that, best I can do is hope it does it when I'm leaving work in the morning some day and take it straight to the dealer so they can witness it, video it for Kia and get a proper diag
scanner on it that reads more than what my
scanner does.
