Eibach Rear Sway Bar Impressions

Question - I purchased eibach front and rear sway bars & will be delivered in June. I mentioned this to a fellow stinger owner and they said, to get the adjustable endlinks as well and do them both at the same time. That this is my daily driver, I really dont want to get them because 'adjustable' to me means extra maintenance & i just dont know enough about them. In addition to warranty issues an adjustable endlink may create (i think)..

what are you experiences? Has the dealership voiced any concerns about suspension upgrades?
At the very least, wait until you have installed the bars you've already purchased and evaluate from there.

If you're going to buy something (that applies to the sway bars as well), do it because you feel the car needs it based on your driving impressions, not hearsay or what you read on the internet. Everybody's needs differ - one persons 'must have' modification can very well worsen the driving characteristics that are important to another.

Thinking of getting the rear Eibach sway installed. What is a reasonable installed price for just the one? Was quoted $411 all in. Thanks.

If that were the price of the bar installed, that'd be terrific. If that is the price to install a c. $300 sway bar, that is too much. It's roughly an hour's labor. So go from there. "My" dealer's service center charged me under $145, tax and "misc. charges" included.

I paid 150 labor for rear install.

My car has been in for service once since adding the rear sway bar. I made no mention of it and neither did they.

I don't see a need for an adjustable endlink for street use but if you wanted to swap in adjustable endlinks down the road they're incredibly simple to do on their own. You only really need to pull the wheel off and the endlink at each corner is staring you in the face.

Cool. Thanks Merlin. $411 is installed.

Installed the front today, have both on now. It was not that hard to install, I am slow so it took me a couple of hours. Drove it briefly and it feels good so far. Will add comments when I drive it some more.

I just got a quote for $250 to install front and rear sway bars. Do you think thats a good deal?
Just the installation price is $250? If so, that is high. Should be a 60-90 minute job for a shop that knows what they’re doing.

C. $150 for the rear, at an hour. And c. half an hour for the front. That is only a little high priced.

I think the front can be done in a half hour if you are fast on and a full lift. Jack stands at least an hour.

Hourly labor is 150 now? It's been a time since I went to workshop. How they rip people off, I just started working on my own. Last time I saw hourly labor was 80 but on country side.

I said around $150; that's total with tax and "misc. charges". My rear bar was put in at a few minutes over an hour; but they charged for one hour, which is evidently c. $123/hr. I haven't seen $80/hr in years.

May be you live at a expensive place. I haven't checked labor rates at my current location yet. I saw 80/hr in Binghamton NY and Rochester NY a year ago.

We have established that these bars make a difference over 233 posts so far.
I would recommend that the people who are thinking about them read the entire thread before reposting questions that have already been answered in detail.
Dealers should not have an issue with fitting them as it won’t void warranty especially if the dealer fits them. Fitment time is normally 2 hours front and back.

My dealer would not touch installing Eibach sways on Christine even though they acknowledged it would not void any warranties. They said “well what if something goes wrong?” I said “that’s what the million mile warranty is for”. Still no deal.

Update, I drove the car yesterday some and decided to do as some of you have suggestion and run both on the softer setting. The car handled great with the front on soft and the rear on firm but the ride was noticeably taughter in the rear. It did not ride rough but there was a noticeable difference in the ride. It was very stiff on body roll as well. I really like how the car handles and imho the RWD model is best equipped with both bars and both set on the softer setting. The ride is a bit firmer but early noticeable. Handling still much improved.

The main difference I noticed between just having the rear installed and both is the steering response. When changing lanes and such the car is really responsive with the front bar installed. Thanks AV8R and Stinger GT SS for the advice and feedback!

Took all of 20 minutes to change the stiffness setting on the rear.

Thanks for sharing. Since I have AWD, I would try out by self as well (rear only at first then both).

I have read the entire thread and do not understand why the AWD car only needs the rear. Is there a negative to putting both on with AWD model?
