Definately dont buy it new!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well my original goal/plan with the Stinger when I picked it up back in February 2020 was to keep it for at least a decade. That's why I spent so much of my savings on a new car. I got it for about $10k under MSRP out the door final price. My idea is to buy a new 2021/2022 car that I can get for a great deal under MSRP and keep for ten years. If I sell my Stinger for a profit due to the bubble then get another fantastic deal on a new car I should be in the green. I'm just thinking out loud to be honest. :D
Taking emotion out of the equation (the fun and bonding factor with your Stinger). Selling the Stinger makes sense in your specific case.

Yeah I figured! :D

I think I may have bitten off more than I could chew in the first place with the Stinger if I'm being honest. I saved for years to pick up a nice toy like this. I love it but I probably would have been better off keeping my 7-year old WRX a bit longer. Idk... :p

Either way I'll see what I can get for the Stinger once I do the drive back down to Florida this summer. Excited to see the profit! :)

Just make sure you've shopped your replacement car to basically the point of the sale before you sell. We've got a super hot housing market where I live right now, and I've had a few friends sell out of excitement at $100k + profits, only to realize the obvious too late and lose it all in the next purchase, or have to substantially lower their standards for the next place.

Obviously there are differences between housing and autos, but a supply constrained market is going to behave similarly, no matter what's being sold! But good luck either way!

If you can stick to the ten year plan, the depreciation of buying new doesn't matter. Most people (including myself) can't, which is why new almost never makes sense.

Solid advice and noted!! Thank you!! :)

If I choose to sell the Stinger for a profit it will be once I have a final OTD lined up at a local dealership and the car ready for pickup. At that point all I have to do is walk-in and sign the paperwork once my check cleared from the Stinger sale.

What a strange and crazy market we're in right now! :p

Absolutely agreed! If I were not seeing such great offers on used Stingers then I would still be keeping. I'm looking at some great deals on a new 2020/2021/2022 cars sitting on lots. Whatever I pick up I will plan to keep for at least a decade so it's a no brainer at this point. Very exciting stuff! :D

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Great post! This market (housing, stock, and cryptocurrency included) is weird. If you are selling and not buying then this is a great seller's market for auto and home. Or if you are selling and can wait out the market on your next home or auto purchase.

People are doing crazy things right now just to buy a house, including paying way over asking price with no home inspection. I would never buy a house with no inspection unless I was getting it well under asking price.

For people who got large lease incentives and bought out in 2019/2020, they probably had a ton of equity after the first year of ownership. Carvana is quoting about $42500 for a GT2 AWD in my zipcode right now and I know many people were getting them for less than that a year ago!
I got a gt2 2019 awd white red interior at 10k miles for 35k$. Now it's at 25k miles and I was like aye f*ck it let me see the offers I get and they were like 25k$ Definitely not worth it imo. My previous car was an Audi A6 prestige I bought at 50k miles for 35k$ and sold at like 77k miles and I got 25k$ trade towards the stinger with it. (Had a few errors lights on the dash, but pristine n I mean pristine paint job as I just got it cut n buffed then ceramiced a weak prior.)

Honestly the used market is just a joke. If someone wants my car for anything above what I paid for I would think hard on it as I could get a new stinger with a killer deal with my connections.
