• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Australia-Specific Kia Stinger Discussion

Big blunder by Kia, my 360 degree camera / satellite is showing a white car where I clearly ordered & got a red one !!!
It was only designed to show the best colour ;)

Pity they didn't have them in the colour we bought, silly Kia  but the white is so it shows up well on our screens.
My silver Optima had a white car too, can you imagine the looks on the service dept's faces if you took the car in and complained :rofl:
Don't put it past them some might just be that dumb:laugh:

Should'a got a white one then,problem solved ... :) :)
Are you sure about that massive decision, white is a lot slower in peoples eyes,,, red being the fastest.
Solution, have an overlaid made which is entirely clear except for the car which would be the color of the Stinger you have, then, when the car pops up, use your overlay. Yep problem solved.

Hi, I am eagerly awaiting my white GT to be ready for pickup, only a couple of days left hopefully.

First couple of alterations I want to do is get the E badges front, rear and wheels and powder coat the wheels black. Anyone have a good smash repairs and/or wheel place that can do these for me in Sydney?

I am still waiting for my badges that were sent exactly 2 months ago, and a second replacement sent a month ago from the supplier advertised on this forum. According to tracking both parcels are still in USA. Probably be a great Christmas present.

Yeah was also going to ask quickest place to get badges from, must be Korea itself rather than the USofA

What’s your general location in Sydney, I know a good smash repairer in Penrith.

Hey all,
Was a member driving the red stinger with E front & stinger on rear badge at Lakemba at 6:20am (today) Thursday? I went past in my micro blue night sky.

Just curious how those of you with the 2019/2020 models feel about the Michelin tyres? My 2018 came with Continentals, I’ve got 40,000km on them but they’re worn and need replacing. A guy I spoke to at Tyrepower the other day told me he has a stinger owner who buys tyres off him and is lucky to get 25,000 out of the Michelins. He did say it was a company car so the owner didn’t care about looking after the tyres, but 25,000 seems poor for expensive so called performance tyres. I was thinking of putting them on mine until I heard this. So I’m curious about the experience of other Australian owners.

The reviews that came out of the Stingers on Continentals were that they tended to wear a lot quicker than the Michelins. Hard cornering tended to rip them up way too easily. Probably explains the change to Pilot Sport 4s. I can't give you an idea on longevity on my Michelins as I have only done 11000kms. No adverse wear at this stage. A lot probably depends on manner of driving I suppose. How much is a set of Michelins by the way?

I've got the Contis too and after nearly 25k there's still plenty of rubber so I would hope to get 40k as well. I believe the Michelins are softer therefore will wear faster.
@Stinger GT SS can give you a heads up on an alternative.

I would’ve liked more than 40,000 out of them, can’t say I corner hard, at least not all the time lol but the fronts are worn on the outside edges quite badly. Downside to staggered tyres and not being able to rotate them. I ran Potenzas on my old Commodore and got anywhere between 50-60,000km out of them and drove it just as hard as I drive the Stinger. I’m looking at the Continental ContiSport 5, Michelin PilotSport 4, or Bridgestone Potenza. I was quoted about $1424 for the Continentals, the Michelins were $415 each for the front and he said between about $450-$500 each for the rear. I’m still looking around
