AUGUST WTFmy dealer told me by august lol
about emission and db over limit, damn...
My Deep Chroma Blue has arrived at the dock, so I enquired with the dealer about the bi-modal exhaust I had ordered. He told me that the newly made exhausts (with the problems solved) that DO get released to Australia initially (possibly in April) will all go to filling back orders - already delivered cars who have it ordered but not yet fitted. It is highly unlikely that anyone waiting for their car will get an exhaust from the first batch, he reckons.
That was good enough for me to delete the bi-modal exhaust and go ahead with delivery of my car.
As it is, I want now to wait and see how the 'modified' exhaust sounds and performs, given that it must be altered to meet whatever failing it had to this point. As time goes by and the Kia version exhaust is still not available, it can be hoped that other after-market alternatives might be offered.
By the way - why did Kia not tell the truth about the design problem? No-one really believes it was a fitment problem - including dealers. This type of behaviour by the manufacturer undermines the attempts they are making to reposition themselves in the marketplace.

I got told today the latest email from Kia Australia on this said they'll be getting stock in April. Must be getting the same timeframe as yours.
My car is also Deep Chroma Blue. Due to pick the car up Friday so it must have been in the same batch as yours. I suppose I have to break it in before I can really enjoy the exhaust anyway...
Looking forward to the video you'll be posting when you pick up your car. Love to hear what the bi modal exhaust sounds like!My car is ready on Monday, but I am not able to pick it up until Friday 6/4. The salesman said they are fitting a bi-modal exhaust to the demo model Stinger they have and it will be there when I pick up mine so I can listen to it. If anyone else wants to check it out, it is at Blackburn Kia.
Just got the call from the dealer today - bi-modal exhaust booked in for fitting next week.I already enquired thru them and they directed me to the dealership, who obviously has no idea.
Thanks for the update. It will be interesting to hear the difference. Love using the paddle shifters to gear down.Went for a spin in the dealership managers Stinger with exhaust fitted last night this morning.
There is a significant amount of wiring and electrical work done to fit this into the cars standard mode control. It took them 5 hours. Future factory stingers will have the wiring loom installed to ease install.
Eco mode effectively has the valve open at idle and startup and closed the remainder so effectively silent operation.
Sport/Comfort - operate at idle and startup and then at 70% throttle open up to about 2000rpm I think from memory.
There is a detailed spec sheet showed me a photo of which outlines the mode of operation and when it activities at what throttle position and rpm etc.
We only went around the block but suffice to say it's very quiet at the closed position and nice and throaty with noticble sound on paddle shifting etc.
Mine is at the dealer now and will be fitted tomorrow and I'll have it in the afternoon.
I have a pretty ordinary video of the dealership managers car but too big to upload directly.
I'll do a better video tomorrow and put it on YouTube.
Suffice to say...it put a smile on my face!

Let us know how you go.
There are videos on YouTube which show the exhaust change over is only 30 minutes?
I’m getting a tow bar fitted as well. They told me that job takes a few hours!
It was for the American market. Thought Australia would be similar. Was the install video for this KiaAu Bi-Modal exhaust?
Forgot to mention the hold up was that the previous exhausts were sent back because the exhaust pipe extended to far and was vibrating on the chrome tips attached to the bumper.
