Keep in mind there's quite a few people with 2022's that are having issues with remote start not working at all, both with FOB or with the app and Kia doesn't have a firm fix for it yet, though I think last I read was they were focusing on a specific component. Thankfully I haven't had the issue yet but I only have about 1700 miles on my car at the moment.
Just get the Accessorides remote start with takeover. It doesn't sound the horn at all, just the lock beep once for each press of the remote "lock" button (you press it three times to remote start the car), and with the takeover option, it won't shut it off when you unlock and open the door.
Way cheaper than a new car.
I can not even get in my car until I turn it off....then the long honk and it will unlock. This makes me very irritated as well. I don't have remote start, that's what they should have said!
Enter thread about beep at the end of remote start... get recommendation from someone who doesn’t have remote start..to not use remote start..as it’s intended. (As if we all hadn’t figured that option out already.)
Your solution defies the reason for remote start on the first place. Let's just admit KIA dropped the ball BIG TIME with the whole remote start thing. Personally had I'd known this prior, I would have paid to put an aftermarket remote start into the car just as I did with my last two SXLs
I had an aftermarket remote put in my Kia and since they did the security recall update when I use my remote the horn honks five times and then two more times I'd like to know how to turn that off as you would. Does anyone have the answer to that
