Any High mileage, stingers out there?

Thanks!

Thing is, even on some oil manufacturers websites you have a "high mileage car" option which usually means over 100k miles. If you tick that, it recommends 5W30 oils instead of 0W30. It makes no sense to me because if the car is a little older, I expect it to be super sensitive at starts while it builds up oil pressure. And doing that with a 0W oil should be easier?
But, maybe that's when it also "eats" the oil so that's why they recommend 5W.

In any case, the oil I'm sticking to now is Mobil which offers 2 variants of the same 0W30 oil. One is called ESP and the other ESP LV (low viscosity). They both respect the ACEA C2 rating.
The ESP LV is better for fuel economy and I presume it is also just as good for protection. It's just a tiny bit more expensive than the normal ESP.

Hello , I own a 2020 Kia stinger Gt I had it since 2021 it’s has 130000 miles I’m planning on doing a trip to North Carolina. Which is about 1300 miles . The most I have driven is 5 hours. 300 miles at the time . The only problems I ran into right now is brakes , rotors , I have to replace the thermostat.

Wow 130k and only brakes and a thermostat is great. I've fixed more than that and mine only has 30k miles.

What kind of premature failures have you experienced?

^^Holy inflated rates! $2K for a mirror, $3600 for a headlamp, and $500+ for a starter. You canucks really taking it all in!

You shouldn't. 1300 miles is nothing for a car like the Stinger, even with 130k miles on it. I do longer trips every other month.
150 miles of crowded city driving will put more stress on it than 10x the distance at constant highway speeds.

Just about 132K miles, 2019 3.3TT. I was watching those pcv valve videos on youtube and thinking maybe I should do it too, since I had the oil turning dark very quickly in my last oil change and noticed some dirty surfaces around the oil pan gasket. It is an inexpensive part and easy to replace, and I am so glad to change it, it was dirty, covered in oily film and not moving as free as a new one when you shake it. So just a reminder for all high mileages out there to change pcv valve. it is a good preventative maintenance : )

40k miles on a '22. No issues so far, aside from other drivers.

I'm just over 45k on my '22, only done scheduled maintenance and brakes.

At 165K Kms (102K miles). Only had to change the water pump once and redo the brakes. I have started to keep an eye on the oil level as it went down a bit (About half point on the dipstick between F and L) since the last oil change ~3k Kms back. Not sure if its oil burning or an oil leak somewhere. I will be topping it up and rechecking after 3K Kms when the oil change is due.

Hey I’m currently at 145000 miles . Did a trip Detroit to North Carolina recently for 2000 miles . Runs smooth and straight . Currently just need a tuneup . If you all up to date car definitely gonna last up to 200k probably more . But I’m in the process of getting a newer Kia stinger . I have a 2020 Kia stinger gt I had since 2021 of April . So I been driving a lot and added a lot of miles . So your good ! Just keep oil changed and stay updated with your maintenance.

Anyone approaching 100,000 miles on their stinger with a 3.3 TwinTurbo? Any issues popping up?

Thanks for the follow up! Have you done any valve cleaning services yet? Or do you have catch cans?

Kia Stinger 2.0 Premium 2018 Aurora Black. 152,000 miles. I bought it new in 2018 and I just recently went back to all my receipts and put together a service log of the performed maintenance and repairs. Only 2 issues put the car into the shop and those were both due to a recalled high pressure fuel pump. I am in touch with Kia to get those repairs all reimbursed ($3,600).

104600 km on a 2018 GT2

Liftgate latch failed yesterday (can’t open hatch without crawling through from back seats to use emergency manual release, and then need someone outside car to actually lift the hatch). Replacement latch covered by extended warranty.

Blower motor resistor failed today (aircon fan speed can’t be controlled and runs at high continuously unless turned off completely). Replacement part covered by extended warranty.
