Look like you bought a step down converter. You need to buy a DC-DC buck/boost converter so it maintains 12V as output and can accept 8-40V as input

So what’s number 2 used for ? & 4?

4 is not used in the base model and the 2 is for the high beam which you dont need to do anything with

The voltage regulators will fix it for sure. Just make sure they have up/down feature and output 12V and take in between 8-40v approximately

Hey peeps!! So, my wife and I purchased her 2019 Kia Stinger Base (no premium package) about four months ago. My wife was driving a ‘14 Kia Optima Limited 2.0 Turbo which she ABSOLUTELY loved! However, trading in the “fully loaded” Optima for the Base Stinger, we lost SO many features. In fact, I should probably post the LONG list of option(s) we lost going from the Optima SXL to the Stinger Base to help those in the same situation make a more informed decision. For now though, the #1 thing we miss the most is the HID headlights. Unfortunately, the premium package would have put the monthly payment over budget. Now that she’s been driving the stinger for a few month(s), night driving visibility is poor at best. I am aware of the “many” LED bulbs on the market replacing the halogen one(s). However, when switching to the brighter LED bulbs, some minor wiring adjustments will need to be made. From a visual perspective, the one thing (other than badging) that screams, “my Stinger is a Base” is the ugly headlight assembly. My question is this, can I replace my halogen headlight assembly, with the factory HID headlight(s) that come on the GT and Base Premium model(s)? Or, if anyone has a link to an aftermarket headlight assembly replacement, I would consider those as well. I’ve looked for aftermarket replacements with no luck so I thought maybe someone on these forums could help me out. Thanks in advance!!

Yes, you can replace the halogen headlight assembly with the factory HID headlights. You will need to make some minor wiring adjustments, but it is a relatively easy process. Alternatively, there are many aftermarket LED headlights available that will also provide improved visibility.

I belive he is talking about swapping out the headlamp assembly for the one that the GT's have.

I was able to do this (almost, just need a better set of voltage regulators. The harness is the same but you need to attach a resistor in parallel for the turn signals and a voltage regulator for the low beams. Then bulb out warning is gone and the lights work. I got a great deal from someone who sold the pair. Anybody have a driver side lens they want to sell?

The ground to use for the turn signals is pin 7 btw

I was going through this forum, and FB Groups, but I didn't found any tutorial. I know I need some Canbus, Voltage Regulators.

Could You help me to go through this ? What should I buy, and show me some pics, how to connect in ?

i'll post the details here in case anyone in the future needs it

but basically you'll need the voltage regulators (anti-flicker for blinker) and the power converters (canbus for power stepdown) like you said
as well as the led headlight set


for wiring you'll need to get the canbus in line with the power wire, you can either cut the wire OR as i've learned there's a harness out there, you can do all the mods to the harness so you don't mess with the OEM wires in case you ever undo it like when you go to sell it



ports 1 and 5 are for the headlight itself that requires the stepdown converter, i used this one (you'll need 1 for each side)

for the blinker you'll want 50w 6Ohm load resistors, the ones i got aren't on amazon anymore but here's similar ones

these you can just tap into with either t-taps for the snap connectors that come with them (ports 3 & 7)



check my saved IG highlights for visuals of how the wiring looks like inside, it's a mess since i didn't use a harness, also i have old power converters in this clip, i upgraded to the ones linked above since it was flickering randomly

the headlights themselves require taking off the bumper, unbolt the original headlight (3 bolts) then slide it out
