Some more dyno testing with a 2022 Stinger today. This time in addition to his custom intake/catback he added in dps and CPI. Running an E45 mix with the JB4 set to map7 which allows it to vary CPI volume and boost target based on the ethanol mixture. Peak power was around a 90 additive setting.

Most of the runs were done in 4th including his last round of testing but for kicks we also did a 5th gear run and included a plot of that. Very impressive gains adding in the dps and CPI....
We tried several different boost profiles including holding more boost to redline but they didn't result in more power. It appears timing advance is probably the limiting factor here. The factory timing tables max out around 15-16 degrees up top. In looking at a few JB4+flash logs the most aggressive flash maps are running 20 degrees+ up top. I'm not sure if that's safe long term yet but seems to be worth another 15-20whp with E30+meth or CPI+E45. If flash map prices don't drop soon we'll have to dust off the JB4's CPS control to see if we can fudge timing up a few degrees for max effort customers.

Can you explain more what the JB4 could theoretically do if you implemented CPS Control?
What would be the benefits and downsides or setbacks to have this done?
Sounds too good TBH my first question here was why is it not being done already?
Btw I have JB4 so far it has been great not planning on switching to anything else even though a Tune sounds like a great option I do not like the disadvantages.
 
Hi Terry, I had a 2018 with k&n intakes secondary cats removed no mufflers jb4 with meth and ran 11.96 at 116 with a boosted launch. my wife now has a 2022 with jb4 and meth with a boosted launch went 12.09 at 115. I have to say the new cars seem to be much faster. One question I have is about the jb4. I know it is able to increase boost when driving but why can it not increase boost when in launch control mode? for better 60ft times. Factory is about 2 psi why will it not go to about 7 with the jb4?

I'm not terry and know nothing about the inner working and programing of the JB4, but based off of previous logs, it looks like the JB4 doesn't appear to start modifying voltage to make more boost (If that's how it works, but working with computers, that is the easiest way to overclock, so it would make sense here) till a certain condition is met, which from the logs I have done anyway, appears to be about 3 PSI of boost. all my logs show that below 3psi, the JB4 reads the same that the car does, above it, it starts to make more.

for the people that know better than I do, PLEASE correct me if I am wrong, as I don't want to spew any wrong information out there.

Everything seems the same as far as we can tell. If there is a difference its subtle.
