Yes, you are correct, im with AAMI and anything non factory is considered a modification, maybe even tinted windows, and Ceramic Coating, and of course Bi-modal exhaust.

The items you mention are listed as accessories in any insurance scroll down list so wouldn’t be a modification. But a dealer option that gives no additional power but only sound which is in their accessory list be classified as a modification is ridiculous.

Just goes to show you that some Insurers wouldn’t have a clue.

It doesn’t make the car go any faster!

I’d be looking around to other companies like RACV, GIO or AAMI.

Agree with you. So far RACV is reasonably competitive but still dearer. Similar exhaust from the same manufacturer is on the VF and it’s ok.

OK, i have not asked AAMI about the bi-modal exhaust, but im quite confident, that it should not be an issue, such as with your experience. I have had car insurance with AAMI for 20 years, no issues.

Thanx for the heads up, Budget Direct have been trying to get my car insurance for years, but i have done the research, read the fine print, spoken to the Customer Service, there is a reason why they are cheaper, but it was extra for rating one and so on, in the end , just as much or even more than AAMI.

Wise choice, inquire with GIO and AAMI and any other like RACV maybe, then you can make a confident decision who to sign up with.

Maybe try a Car specialist insurer like Shannons I found them more than reasonable. I'm with the NRMA and they can't do enough. I have all my insurances with them, 3 cars, home content they are very flexible and strangely they were the cheapest $980 p/a (I/m 54)

I'm with AAMI. When i insured the Stinger i advised i had the Bi Modal and they said no problems. Just triple checked and my Fully Comprehensive cover includes any accessories or modifications up to the value of my cover, which i ensured covered the bi modal costs. Also includes the ceramic coating etc. Only thing it does not cover is Roll Cages, Customised paint, Superchargers and Nitro or hydrogen fuel systems.

That's correct, it's an axleback only.

$2600 for axle back is a bit steep but i guess you get kia's warranty. Going to bite the bullet next week on Ark grip cat back exhaust. I just feel i need a bit more sportiness in the sound dept its taken 5 months of uming and aring.
