• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

2019 Map Update now available online

Looks like Aussie Navigation update has just dropped for the MY21 and onwards Stinger (widescreens 5W).

Seems like there is also different software for the MY21-22 and MY22 stingers (assume old vs new KIA badged vehicles maybe)?
Yep, updated mine just now thanks for the heads up.

Just updated the software. AA still isn't fullscreen.

The map is now aligned right, with the date and time on the left.

It's split screen now. Play some music through AA and you'll see the time change to the music app. You can toggle between the two also, music app in the small part or map in the small part. I like it.

I’ve always believed that the smaller screen in the older stingers is more functional and suits the car better. My Seltos GT has the large screen, has no benefit at all.

How are you please seeing the most recent update?
The Kia update website only lists the "May 2022 Navigation Map and Software Update" for me.

The Kia update website only lists the "May 2022 Navigation Map and Software Update" for me.
The MY21-22 and MY22 lines for the Stinger in the list of available software for each KIA vehicle now end in 220623. Previously (up until a couple of days ago) the available version ended in 210913.

Also the message saying that the software for the widescreen models (ie MY21 onwards) being available in June has now been removed.

If you download the Navigation Updater software, there is now an additional "2022 Stinger" option in the selection list.

Previously it stopped at "2021-2022 Stinger". I downloaded the software for this option but it wasn't compatible with my '22 Stinger. Nor could I find the software version for the car.

The "2022 Stinger" selection is associated with the 220623 update.

Anyone noticed the speed limit in the HUD isn't updating as quickly as it previously did?

E.g. you move from a 70km/h to a 50km/h road and there's a long lag before it shows "50".

:(

A question for those who own a facelifted Stinger: is there a way to display the adaptive cruise following distance (from one bar to four bars) in the head-up display? My 2019 Stinger did (and I found it very useful) but my 2022 doesn't.

So the Kia update site now lists a December 2022 update (released Dec 14th), but the map data appears to be the same. Anyone updated this? Is there anything worthwhile in it for non-widescreen?

Hmm, well I just ran the upgrade downloader and tried to update and the car said it was the same version, even though I can see a Dec 22 update on the website. (MY20 Stinger GT). I suspect it only applies to the Gen5W.

Asked Kia NZ about this update and apparently it is only some bug fixes for the Gen5W display units and some corrections for inaccuracies in the map data (whatever that may be). Looks like we have to wait until mid 2023 for a full update release.

Any Aussie Stingers Gen5W getting full widescreen after the Dec update? Mine still has the Android Auto logo on the side
I thought you guys did get it but the setting is counter intuitive.. aka something about split screen mode in phone projection?? i don't have a newer widescreen so i can't check ... :( lol

Just updated mine (Standard Gen 5 non widescreen) with Dec 2022. They seemed to have removed the "sounds of nature" feature on this latest update for the non-widescreens.

It didn't come with that feature originally, Kia threw it in when they updated to the purple theme. So maybe they decided to take it away. I have only ever used it once anyway to go through the sounds and that's it. I have never used that feature ever again.

Had my car in at Kia for its 60k service i asked about the new nav update. I have always got a free update once a year from them. I was told it had expired and i would be up for $300! I was also told it now only applies to 2019 or newer models, mine is a My 2018. Not amused.

what country are you in? I have the latest standard as well in the US, and the latest from october actually added several new "sounds of nature" like experience the universe, which i actually really like.
