What did you do to your Kia Stinger today?

And the final result. It feels suuuuuuper smooth and soft to the touch :)
You will find it much easier to keep clean! I would recommend using gyeon ceramic quick Detailer as a drying add and the gloss and slickness is fantastic

Make sure you use a ceramic safe soap. Don’t go using Dawn it some other dish soap. I use CarPros. There are others as well. Just be sure the soap states ceramic safe or something like that. Also, there’s always a discussion about what towels to use to dry it after washing. The best thing I’ve found to use is a leaf blower. Since the ceramic is hydrophobic water slides off very easily. This prevents you from potentially scratching the ceramic with any kind of towel since they all collect any remaining dirt that you might have missed during the wash. Gets off 90-95% of the water. then use microfiber towels to get the inside of the doors, hatch, and engine bay. Nice car. Looks “wet”.

Sadly I live in the middle of a crowded city so no chance of washing the car myself except in a self-service wash station. As far as I know they use safe soaps and osmosis water so that should be fine to use on the car.
The 2 recommendations I got from the detailer were:
1. Try to dry the car afterwards just in case the osmosis is not done properly. Any recommendations for a towel of some kind?
2. Go back to them for a 70€ deep clean and sealant application after every winter. We get a lot of sand and other mixtures sprayed on the roads December to March. He said the coating should last 3 to 5 years even though the manufacturer quotes 9 years. They used Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra.

Dyi washes will be fine, just use their soap and rinse. I use a "rag company" drying towel with the ceramic quick detailer

Had some time today to finish installing my seats. With 80lbs removed from seats, i shoud be real close to 3600lbs now. Which might make my awd v6 stinger lighter than i4 rwd cousin. Also covered the rear seat area with carpet.20221013_212108.jpg20221013_170433.jpg

They look great, are they comfortable & how would they be on a long distance drive?

Being fixed bucket seats they are not as comfortable as stock ones. They do change the feel of the car in the good way. But i wouldn't want to sit in them for more than hour at a time without some kind of extra cushion. Maybe i need some time to get used to them.

Well I guess you put them in for a reason to suit your needs, they do look good but being uncomfortable is the deal breaker. I really like the factory seats, you can comfortably travel long distances without being fatigued.

It is hard to beat stinger seats comfort wise. Out all of the cars i owed, the stinger is the most comfortable thanks to the seats. I don't really have any special needs for these. Just always liked the idea of carbon seats. And if not for the sale of my hot wheels collection, i would never spent that kind of money on seats. Easy comes, easy goes. But i do like them, for now.

^^Depends what you're coming from. I thought the seats in my g37 were better than the stinger. Inflatable thigh and torso bolsters keep you in place. Maybe the GT2 has this?

Seats in my gtline stinger are ok. I've done 500+ mi days without much difficulty. Seats in our '15 accord were terrible. Back hurting after as little as 100-150 miles.

Well i guess the seat comfort is a very subjective. I am sure, there're some people who hate stinger seats. When i bought mine, i drove it from Nashville TN to Cleveland OH. And if i didn't have to stop for gas, i am sure i could drive it without any stops.

These seats are certainly the most comfortable in any car I've had i recent years. Used to be that I had to stop every 90 minutes in my 17 GTI because my back would start screaming. Now, in the Stinger, the limiter is my bladder :D.

I've had numerous 250+ mile days, the longest to date was just over 700. My back was a little sore the next morning, but that probably has more to do with sitting all day.

You can replace the back panel of the stock seats with CF.

CDN GT Limited and my drivers seat adjust every way to Sunday.

We drove 1800 miles in two days (four full grown adults) and no complaints. I still think that my '90 SHO seats are more comfortable, bit it's like comparing one down pillow to another.

Front windshield tinted 30%. And cleaned up.

This weekend changed the sway bars to Eibach and the sway bar links to SuperPro, having read other peoples experience I bought some tools which helped but that one nut under the fuel lines is one major pita. Getting the nut off was not too bad but the extra height of the Eibach brackets made getting to the nut difficult, I ended up angle grinding a deep 3/8 14mm sock down to mid size which helped. Only had time for a quick drive but certainly feels more planted around corners though do notice the uneven road surface more, now to save for a Mando ECS10 to finish my suspension changes.tools.webp
