• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

What did you do to your Stinger in Australia today?

That belongs on the wall in your garage, not on your engine ! Its 'art'.
Thanks, first try at doing something like that and I was happy at how it turned out.

Drove to Moorabbin a week ago which is 1.5 hours away to exhaust specialists that were apparently great fitting Borla exhausts.
They hadn’t fitted the cat back or tips to a Stinger before and it took them 2.5 hours.
I watched as they studied the instructions. I was becoming vaguely anxious.
All appeared good and I drove home.
I really liked the more aggressive sound.
Once at home, hubby pulled lightly on one of the tips and it slid right off. He took all off and looked at me saying “ that’s no good, that shouldn’t happen “
We had to wait to get it in at a local exhaust shop where they checked the exhaust and secured each tip in place with a small bolt.
After a week, the exhaust has a less raspy tone, it requires time to seed in. It crackles a lot on downshift, it has a nice hum when cruising down the road. There is no drone but very loud on cold start up.
Now, when I leave for work, hubby says “ drive safely and don’t hoon

You drove an hour and a half with tips unsecured and didn't lose any? God must love you. :)

any sound clips of the Borla exhaust ? Also, I take it you lose the ability to open and close the valves so always open?

love the tips!

Yep, always open, it’s not a Bimodal. The Bimodal I sold after installing the Borla.
It burbles a lot, which I enjoy :)

If you go into the " Garage " where we can post pics etc, look under my moniker and I have downloaded a couple of vids of the exhaust.
Like all new exhausts it needs time to seed in and had raspy tones initially but has improved since instalment.

Just clocked up 30,000km. Owned for 3.5 years now. 3 year service completed in May @ 28,200km.

Instead of " what did you do to your Stinger ? ", this post is what did" someone else do to my Stinger ?"
Last Friday, I was in a bit of a rush to make the post office so didn't park far away like usual. My son waited in the car and it was a really windy day.
Came back to the car and my son says " a man hit your car with his door, I don't know if there is any damage "
I looked, saw a white mark on the passenger side. I took pic of the owners car next to me and waited. Shortly, along came an elderly gent, I asked " is this your car ? " he replied it was and that he had no intention of driving off. He explained as he opened the door the wind blew it out of his grip, he has mild Parkinson's so obviously his strength / reaction isn't as good. He admitted he hit my car and has insurance. I asked for his driver's licence and took a pic of that, we exchanged names and phone numbers.
When I got home, I contacted my car insurance and lodged a claim. Took Sonic to be assessed this past Monday, she is going in for repairs tomorrow. They will be keeping her for four working days to get out the dents and respray.
I was miffed of course but it was an accident and at least the old guy admitted liability. Good news, my insurance company have waived the excess as I had the third parties details and I get some hire car whilst Sonic is in the shop.

Unfortunate, but a least a descent person for sticking around. Hopefully Sonic comes back quickly and better than new

He explained as he opened the door the wind blew it out of his grip,
Same thing happened to me, in my freshly repainted '94 Voyager. Ironically, there was no visible damage to the other car, but the edge of my door was pushed in noticeably. I drove off. Hah. Even now, I have not fully recovered, it was so stupid. But it taught me to hold onto my Stinger door and I've trained my wife to do likewise.

I could kick myself because normally I avoid parking next to other cars in strong wind for this very reason, as well as staying clear of shopping trollies.

Thank you, I was pleased they could do it before Christmas.

Very sorry your pride and joy was damaged. I hope you have her back soon and back to 100%.

Thanks, fingers crossed.
Rolling in a hire car, a Renault Koleos .when I picked up my 12 yo son on Friday after his last day of school, I hadn’t mentioned I’d be in a different car.
We walked to where I normally park the Stinger, he looks around and asked “ where’s the car ? “ I open the SUV ‘s door and say “ here it is “ , he gets in, looks around and says “ compared to the Stinger, this car sucks, I give it 4.5 out of 10 “

4.5 out of 10? He’s very generous!!

Applied thick 5D glossy carbon fibre tape to the stock front lip which is otherwise matte. I think this should also reduce any damage that may occur should it ever accidentally touch a kerb while parking forwards!
