Stinger GT Arrivals in Australia

So apparently my one has entered production and should be early June 2022 (ordered Feb 2021)

I have been told this before but I am not getting my hopes up. It is positive though.

Good luck to everyone else waiting and hope it is a quicker process.

Would anyone have an idea of port to dealer time frame ?
Hi Mate,
Mine is in Port of Brisbane now waiting for allocation of transport to the dealer. I've been told the week after Easter it will be ready for pick up. Yours should be there too.

I was told that mine was on the Ruby Ace but I've since found the Ruby Ace is not coming to Brisbane. Further information has it that the cars for QLD were probably transferred at Port Kembla. Like you said, they're probably all on the Emerald Ace. Mine is also due this month; same colour combination as yours. Mine is coming from Motorama, Moorooka. Cheers.
Sorry everyone, I was going to post when I picked my car up but have been too busy driving the dam thing.
I picked mine up on Friday and have already clocked up 400 km.
To everyone waiting for their car you won’t be disappointed! I absolutely love this car and I’m sure you all of you will too.
My last car was a SSV Holden sports wagons and this GT kills it.

Good Morning everyone :D:D

For everyone in Brisbane expecting this month, I have confirmation mine has arrived and is now 'in stock' (assuming this means at the dealer) with an expected handover probably week after next. Invoice has been issued so full steam ahead ! Can't wait.

Hi guys, I am looking to buy a Kia Stinger GT in VIC. Can anyone tell me how much discount may I get from the current $69,890 drive away price on Kia Website? Is 66K to 67K achievable through a broker given that the waiting time is shorter now and Kia is starting to ramp up the production. How much has anyone pay for their Stinger GT recently (within 1-2 months period)? Thanks

I would imagine very likely none. Even with production ramping up, there are people still waiting on backorders from many months ago, they don't really have a reason to be selling below MSRP at the moment. I got mine for $66k, but it was ordered last year when there was a promotion on (driveaway price dropped to $66.5k from ~$72k). The production and delivery took so long that the dealership had to request price protection from Kia to be able to go ahead with it.

That's very quick. Cheers.

Finally have some solid news on my GT order from June 21. Having had no updates from the broker/dealer since I ordered it other than vague predictions, spoke to Kia HQ last week and was told that my order is now on a ship on it's way out to Australia. I got the VIN number from Kia as well and can now track it on e2.prixcar.com.au - says it's going to arrive at Port Kembla (no date as yet).

Given it was somewhere between Korea and Australia last Wednesday, hoping that I might see it in my garage in 3-4 weeks time tops.

That will be around a 11 month wait which from what I can tell is about the average unless you can pick up a cancelled order.

Hi everyone new to the forums just ordered my GT last week and I was told 9 to 12 months wait time for delivery.
How accurate is this time frame?

Going back to late last year most people were waiting around 9 to 12 months as you stated. It seems wait times have come down recently - a numbers of members have received their vehicles around 7 months after ordering.

Hi there !

Its a bit hit or miss from what I have seen. I ordered mine on the 8th of January with an expected pick up probably next week. Its almost certain that the only reason I have had a short wait time of just under 4 months is probably because it is a cancelled order. I also have a sneaking suspicion that it is also dealer dependant. I called a different dealer to that I went with on behalf of a friend who was looking at the stinger and was told they havent had any stingers come in as of late whereas the dealer I went with I have seen a fair few come and go as I do my daily commute. I would say 6 months is a good bet as the times have been reducing from what I have seen. Don't expect any concession on pricing however.

Sounds pretty 'spot on' to me. However, there are instances where a cancelled order is offered at a higher price than one one you signed up for?
Cheers.

Definitely. Another instance of dealer dependant pricing. I found that whilst some dealers will mark up or pass on any price increases, others (Metro Kia Windsor as an example) have been honouring the original pricing as agreed upon at sign up irrespective of any official price increases by the broader Kia brand. In fact I was told in person by another dealer that should the official price increase again, they would pass that on to me on a "take it or leave it" basis. Safe to say I didnt go with that dealer.

If current GT arrivals are anything to go by, you should have your car a lot faster than you think. Depends on a lot of factors like:
How many Stinger GTs have been allocated to your dealer?
When did your dealer submit your order to Kia Australia?
What colour preferences have you chosen? This can effect when your vehicle is allocated a production slot.
Are you prepared to pay a bit more if a cancelled order is offered to you?
Have you checked some of the larger dealerships as to your interest and vehicle availability?...
Cheers,
H

When I ordered my Stginer they said 6 month wait. Took 2 months. I may have lucked into a colour combo they had preordered.
A friend of mine who also ordered their stinger in February 2021 took delivery in march...2022. 13 month wait.

Has anyone in SE QLD received their Stinger GT in the last couple of weeks? Mine has been sitting in the Brisbane compound for the last 3 weeks!
Hopefully I'll receive it before May.

Hello forum members, I've been lurking in the shadows since ordering a Panthera Metal (red interior) Stinger GT on 21st Feb this year and didn't think I'd be posting anything for a while considering I was expecting a possible year long wait.

This morning I got a phone call from my local Kia dealership GM advising that my wait would be a lot shorter than expected. I seems that Stingers meant for the US market have hit a snag as the part required for the ISG (idle stop and go) button is either not available or there is some other problem related to it. Due to this, Australia will be landing Stingers originally going to the US as this button is not a feature on the Australian version or others Kia's apart from the Rio I believe. The button is mandatory for US vehicles. The time frame for re-routing Stingers is unknown but it means that my Stinger should be arriving in June and notification of shipping could be anytime. Definitely a slice of luck if it arrives in four months. I assume this will benefit all waiting for Stingers depending on how many are due at your dealership.

Thanks for all the great forum content everyone.

G'day Atenza, I'm in VIC and paid $68,500 two months ago. I got what would be fairly standard extras in slimline black plates, tailored GT floor mats and a cargo liner. I had a friend at an associated car dealer make an introduction with the GM so dealt with him and got a bit off, but at the time it was still a long wait so I wasn't expecting much discount...but happy with the end result.

Hello everyone !

Just received the call from the dealer that my car will be ready for pick up tomorrow (somehow) !

Absolutely stoked. Now just need to sell my old car .

Excitement is building !

Unfortunately I didn't receive any discount off the price. I had four dealers all tell me that kia have swapped to agency pricing silently for the stinger and a few other models and any orders put in at leas than retail likely won't be accepted by the factory. I did get some extras though ( simline plates, floor mats etc).
