Had a nail in the rear tire so used the time with the wheel off to take a closer look at the rear brakes/suspension.

Here you can see the rear sway bar, its only 15mm which seems pretty small for this size of car. However reviews mention how flat the car is despite of this. Also, the sway goes above the exhaust, diff, and pretty much everything else. If the sway bar can't be slid out from the side installation of a new bar will not be fun.

This solenoid was attached perpendicular to the brake rotor towards the bottom, this is looking down at it. It had a wire connector at the end. Im assuming this is related to some form of stability control, or make the electronic parking brake?

There is a skid pate below where the spring sits, I thought this was interesting. May have some area benefit as well?

Close up of the rear brake line, going to see about getting steel braided lines made.

This is the back of the reflector on the rear bumper just above the exhaust. Looks like you'll need to remove two screws holding the exhaust tips in order to remove it. I took this pic by sticking my phone between the muffler and the bumper through the wheel well. You can probably do this without taking the bumper off, but it wouldn't be fun unless you have skinny monkey arms.

Good information. Especially on the reflector. Looking to get the LED ones.

I assume you plan to do the fronts as well, but just wanted to caution about doing rears only, or before the fronts. It could upset the brake bias significantly (which might be fun, if you know what you're doing!)

Yeah definitely going to do both. I’m not sure lines just lines on the rear would make much difference but also probably wouldn’t provide much benefit either.

End link looks beefy so that's a plus .

It won’t upset the brake balance doing just the rears but will also give little advantage. Changing all hoses may have a small noticeable difference in pedal firmness. In the USA I believe BrakeQuip dealers can make braided hoses from original samples.
In Australia ABS stores or BrakeQuip Australia dealers offer the same service.

I’m already working with a company out of the UK that I know well. But thanks for the info.

I'm not doing any thing with the brakes until theay find out what KIA is going to do about the warped rotor problem that seams to be popping up in every country . Any mods on brakes might voted the warranty , gust a thought .

the stock brakes are junk , just replace the pads and rotors and be done with it . with good parts .

Hosetechnik out of the UK already market a complete set of braided lines.

Couldn’t agree more, but I’ll also add upgrade Swaybars & endlinks too.

Front & Rear Aftermarket Sway Bars are one of the few mods that you will instantly feel the difference once installed. It is a night and day difference between stock and aftermarket driving without compromising performance. Click HERE to view our Sway Bar options on our website.

The sway bar will slide out from the side it's pretty simple that way it's just the one bolt by the fuel lines it's a little tough to get to and it's not an actual sway bar but it's rigid mounted to the mountings so it's more like a helper spring it's not independent from side to side which was surprising to find that when I removed it

Any particular reason you have it set on "hard" as most go with "soft" for everyday driving?

I kept spilling my coffee. Had to go to softer setting
well after a hard day at work I came home and pulled off four tires off and set it on the softer setting haven't really had a chance to try it out yet have to get on the freeway going sideways tomorrow and see how it holds
