ECU Tune vs JB4

Hello! I believe the logs you are referring to are mine, however those where taken with only a day or two of the ECU being on the car, so it is very possible that the ECU has become more settled in by now, but if you want me to, I can take some more recent ones for you, and we can discuss from there what to do.
How many miles have you put on the tune? My car had to go through an "adjustment period" when I installed the ECU. It felt different over the next week than the JB4, outside of just power increase.

On a crazier note, I installed my tune and drove 70 miles to the dragstrip the next day and raced, raced, raced. Then drove 70 miles back home. This was repeated 2 days later . I was.........excited lol. Car experienced ZERO issues and was a blast, but I don't recommend it. Better safe than towing.

Can you elaborate on this?

Im excited already

I can't articulate it well. The car felt.....off? Nothing seemed like it was breaking, but you could just kind of tell that the car and ecu were adapting to each other. It's a feel in the cars driving/driveability.

There weren't any noises, pings or things of that nature. Responsiveness was different. Wasn't necessarily smooth, but nothing that was alarming. I was also aware that this "learning" phase would happen and was normal. So mentally i guess i was prepared for it. I just didn't know what to expect and how long. I'd say it lasted a few hundred miles though at least.

Yes, things really "smooth" out over time. Lots of adaptation

Ive probably put about 1K on this ECU, however the ECU has had to go through two different adjustment periods because a few days after I got it, I had to bring my car in to get looked at for an BLMS issue, so for safety's sake I swapped the OEM one back in. I put the Lozic one back in about two weeks ago now but have not re-installed the JB4 to get logs, so I plan to do that when I get home from work today as it will finally be warm enough out to not freeze my butt off when doing so.

Mechanically the car has been running as perfect as it can from a performance side. I get an instant 20 to 22lbs of boost depending on the temp every single time I put the foot down, and even when I lock the car into 7th, it PULLS to the point where the speed on my HUD still jumps by 2 to 3mph from 65 to 90. I have not actually timed it, but even in 7th it feels like I can jump that 30mph in 2-3 seconds, which is absolutely crazy for what is essentially a cruising only gear.

Next good car/driver investment for you is a dragy if you don't have one. The more hard data, the better.

I have one, I just cant use draggy and Log Data at the same time unfortunately as the JB4 app stops logging when you leave it on android.

I don't believe that's ever happened to me. I'll check it tonight.

Welp for shites and giggles I tried setting up both apps to run at the same time on my Z fold 2 and they seem to run perfectly fine at the same time when my phone is unfolded. Is it possible to change draggy's orientation to 9:16 instead of 16:9 btw? I cant seem to find any option for it

That I don't know. I just know I usually log when I go to the dragstrip and I use the dragy also during runs to see how close it is to the time tower.

Well I will keep messing around with it tonight to see

As requested, I took some new logs, however the data is more than likely skewered a bit, as while the last gas station I went to was one of the ones considered to be top tier, this gas clearly was not, as these are the worst logs in terms of timing corrections that I think I have ever gotten. I should have gone to the station that I regularly go to that I know has at least decent gas, but I did not. Stupid me.

Yeah that looks like 87 octane or something. Ugly.

Peak boost is sure getting up there at 23

Yeah that does seem kind of high, as that would put it at 1.57 bar, and my tune is suppose to be for 1.4bar, which is kind of odd.
it doesn't really matter though cuz Im already working with Lozic on a refined tune on my car, I just need to get gas at the station I normally go to that has much better quality gas to get a log for him to read so he can make adjustments. I have a 300ish mile round trip to take this weekend but ill be cruising in eco 95% of the time so im not to worried about it.

How’s that Tork TCU tune working for you.

variable boost on launch depending on what RPM I let off the brake at, (max 3K rpm at 10PSI) with a factory launch control option if I only put my foot half way on the gas before release, faster, smoother shifts, and (Probably because I am on winter tires, I haven't actually tried it on tires designed to grip yet) I can do a 4 wheel burnout because >2600rpm is too much torque to handle on these tires.

Spinning isn't winning but it sure is fun!

The ECU in our car is fairly advanced and boost target isn't what he sets exactly. It's more like power target and the ECU does what it needs to reach that target. Be it boost, ignition timing, cam angle possibly. That's why you see more boost at times.

So Lozic attempts to "match" the equivalent power level to boost level.

At least, that's my understanding of how it works
