Gotcha. Was that with or without your mods? That'll drive down the price pretty quickly.A few of us. Offered me 37k today.
I've been thinking about it a lot lately and I keep finding myself having the same theory.Prices have normalized now.
My awd gt2 red with 18000 miles a few months ago was vroom as $39000. Today $31000.
Has to be the shortage. Because there are too many dealerships for competition, they'd start undercutting each other just by a bit and soon the prices would fall down to fair market value. Unrealistic to think they all have an agreement together (a cartel, by definition).Gotcha. Was that with or without your mods? That'll drive down the price pretty quickly.

The dealerships lost truck loads of money the first year of COVID when the lockdown was initiated. Don't you think it's funny how the chip shortage came about and now used car prices are at all time highs? Where does a dealership make their money? Used cars. Trade ins have rose in price, but not as much as the car a consumer is buying.
Funny to think about the timing of all of this. Is there really a chip shortage? Is this just a worldwide phenomenon that is in place for dealerships to retrieve their lost profits from the past year? One must ponder...
I marked as no mods as really the only thing is springs and exhaust which would be changed out prior to trade. Amazing it’s dropped that much though they’re still selling at a premium.Gotcha. Was that with or without your mods? That'll drive down the price pretty quickly.

So previously, the offered price didn’t matter if I selected mods or not.Gotcha. Was that with or without your mods? That'll drive down the price pretty quickly.

I couldn't pay MSRP for a new car. I would check out some low mileage '19-'21 GT2s but you are still going to pay a premium at the moment. The cheapest one I found was a '18 GT RWD for $33k. Had 29k miles. That's not terrible and it is especially good with the current market.I had a local dealer match the Vroom offer I got on my Honda CR-V last month. Their initial offer was $2K less.
I think more ppl are dealing with Vroom, CarMax, Carvana or at least they are eating into the number of used cars dealers get. So the local dealers are becoming more competitive. They agreed so quickly, it made me regret not asking for more.
Now I gotta find a Stinger quick and in a hurry. Probably gonna go used b/c I'm just not willing to fork over the $52K+ for an AWD GT2.
Maybe I'll circle back for a 2022 and the upgraded stereo head unit in a few years. That was really my only gripe on the pre-refresh models.
had inquired at Oakes. They had one marked up to $58K then gave "discounts" and "incentives" to bring it down. But then had dealer add ons that weren't included in the advertised price.
Yes KC. But I just edited my post. The mark up to $58K was legit. Then they offered a $2K down payment match, which basically brought the price back down around MSRP. But the dealer add ons were optional. So I removed that from my post.@GPhenom Oakes in Kansas City, MO? Asking because I'm considering a road trip to Oakes in Kansas City, MO.
I may be about to jump on this wagon too. They're offering me 29k for a GT2, even with 77k miles and an accident on the Carfax.
Ouch.Should have jumped on this offer; 3 months later and they dropped it down to $25k.
Not if you need to buy a car. Or much else electronic for that matter, I do IT work and everything from printers to servers are tough to find at a competitive price, if it can be found at all. Going back a few posts, the idea that this is a big conspiracy is frankly stupid and paranoid. Correlation does not imply causation. If someone doesn't understand what that means, they perhaps need to consider keeping their thoughts to themselves. This chip shortage is awesome!!
An even exchange for a ct5 blackwing... I'm game.
