MY21 Stinger GT exhaust valves

Are you talking about the exhaust valves on the engine or the variable exhaust valves on the muffler side?

That's what I was thinking. For the US cars that is on the 2022 models. Not sure if that will help get views but you may want to update your title.

Make sure the car is off. From memory if you put your hand up on the outside of each muffler you’ll feel a plug. Disconnect and secure the wire/plugs. Turn car on and the valves will be permanently open.

Hi - Has anyone worked out how to override the exhaust valves on the new factory Stinger exhaust?
car off and unplug them at the valve. takes 5 mins i did mine on monday at work.

Any smart sparkies out there who can come up with a switch in the front that controls it? Auto - ie. OEM, CLOSED and OPEN? Some wire and an easy DIY mod?

just find which fuse its tapped into and wired up a switch. pretty simple job

Unlikely to be a tap like V1/V2. Most likely hard wired to a shared non constant power fuse. I'm so far not aware of anyone identifying which fuse it utilises.

Hi mate, had a quick look today for these plugs. Is it one that's covered in a black shroud the runs from the bottom of the outer exhaust?

Would this activate engine check light?

Hi, would this activate any engine check light in the car?

Based on the above, I have some questions as I just bought a new 2023 GT2 as a replacement for my 2019 GT2 that was recently totaled. Keep in mind that I had the Borla catback exhaust on my 2019 that I was able to get back from the collision repair center before the car was taken away.

- First, I was very surprised to see that the location of this electronic exhaust valve is located after the muffler. Unless that pipe now passes through the muffler without being muffled, it almost seems like the valve open position would have been the normal sound and closed would restrict the sound which is counter to the intent of giving the car a more sporty growl. I was expecting the valve to be ahead of the muffler and to open an exhaust path to bypass the muffler similar to a muffler delete even though the resonators would still be in play. Thoughts? I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of aggressive sound compared to the Borla exhaust with which I still didn't have any drone.

- Second, I asked Borla if my 2019 exhaust would work on my 2023. They said although it would physically fit, the issue is the ECVs and that disconnecting them would cause issues like a CEL. But based on comments above and also from the Genesis G70 forum, it seems that disconnecting the wires won't throw a CEL and as such, I could hook up my non-valved Borla exhaust without any issues. Am I missing something? Can anyone confirm the connector does not receive and require feedback from the valve motor? Would any actions require it to be connected back to the motor such as a battery disconnect/reconnect? Or can I live with it forever disconnected and enjoy my Borla sound?

Thanks in advance!

Revision:

- It seems to me that performance is being sacrificed most of the time due to restricted exhaust flow when the valve is closed. For the still fairly tame sound this exhaust produces when the valves are open and still with no drone at all, I think many would prefer to disconnect the valve controller and leave them open all the time. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of aggressive sound compared to the Borla exhaust with which I still didn't have any drone. I would have thought a better valve controlled option would have been to place the valve control before the muffler and open a bypass similar to a muffler delete. This then may have made more sense to choose when the valve is opened or closed.
