Turn Signal Indicators - Obscured by Steering wheel

That's only useful for lane changes or merging onto freeways from onramps, not things like left turns at busy intersections. In fact, on Los Angeles freeways, it's not even all that useful for lane changes or merges.

... or the left turn from Sunset Blvd on to Veteran Ave, which I do daily. It's not a 90 degree turn, and the turn signal usually doesn't turn itself off when the steering wheel returns to center.

On the freeway, I really like how the blind spot detection sounds an alarm if I indicate a lane change and someone is in my blind spot. This is a quantum leap over the BSD in the 2016 Audi A6 I had prior to the Stinger, and 2017 Q7 we still lease.

rocket, just accept it. While the current set up may be fine for you, you don't have the same driving conditions, height, sore shoulders, hearing impairment for certain frequencies, radio-listening style, etc. as those of us who have pointed out that this is a design flaw. Count yourself lucky. But since the indicator has been in a clearly visible position on absolutely every other car I've owned or rented for the past half-century, I think the rest of us are entitled to consider this a design flaw and to hope that the Kia folks consider changing it in the future. And BTW, I don't drive around with the perpetual geezer turn signal, but I've now seen two other Stingers in the wild that were. Considering how rare they are in the wild, I think that shows that this is a problem.
Hey! I'm just as much the geezer as the next guy!! and don't you forget it!! dagnabbit!...Now wheres' that, shoot I forgot what I came in here for.......oh thats right geritol and a night cap.

partly kidding but I am an old fart.

Proper diving instruction, not to be a hard ass here, but really, the indicator has a ''light count'' if you just tap the indicator. That or a follow thru tap ( back to neutral) on the return of the steering wheel to center should suffice ....Drivers still have to drive ...

I do that but I've engaged the full turn signal more than once and if my windows are down, which is often in Florida, I can't hear the signal sound. It's a nuisance to other drivers and pretty embarrassing. The follow up tap has engaged the opposite turn signal for me a few times I think it depends when after the tap you "cancel" it. I've set two driver settings one where the wheel obscures the signal indicators and one where it doesn't which I usually use. Again, super small issue but luckily that's all I have with this beauty of a car.

I getcha, I didn't want to sound like a douche......my apologies, It's all good...albeit the spokes in the steering wheel could be a lot more skinnier for lack of a better term.

All good dude! I realize it sounds like a nitpicky thing but y'all have surprised me before with some of the solutions on this forum so I figured I'd ask. I found a few other threads talking about it too an apparently a few members have reached out to Kia. Someone mentioned a good solution could be to add a small signal indicator to the HUD.

I agree...a hud blip would be the answer....looking at the steering wheel today , With all the switches (for convenience) They really had no choice but to widen the spokes to the wheel. The paddle shifters don't help either btw,

My steering wheel only moves 1/2 inch up from the lowest position so blocks too much of gauge cluster. Taking it to dealer next week. I had a 1980 Yamaha motorcycle, its turn signal cancelled after a time AND distance factor. Worked perfect.

So do all the harleys....since 2006 probably earlier.....my 2012 does.
There is nothing more annoying then seeing the vehicle in front of you making a left turn through the entire state.

My steering wheel also 100% blocks them from my vision. But this problem is almost every car I drive so I am kind of used to looking for it now. It sucks yes but I would rather have my steering wheel comfortable.

I’ll provide the “Merlin “ fix.

whatcha wanna do here is sit in your seat... and lower the seat or move it back. So you can see the indicators.

I’m sure you’d find that SUPER helpful.

it’s basically the John madden of comments.

By Jove! I think he's got it! (actually, I do believe I've been forestalled, headed off, upstaged, or summat :P)

Yeah yeah yeah. Quit showing off . Yes, in my seating position the top of the wheel is even with the bottom of the overhang above the cluster.

Just checking! Everyone sits differently. I'm 6'1" and I am at the lowest seat position and feel that I'm several inches too high.

For sure, at 5'10" I sit with the seat bottomed out, pretty close to and the wheel way down and extended alot.
