3.3TT KHARTUNERZ - NEW CATLESS SECONDARY DOWNPIPES Ark Performance

Why by the way do the photos on this sight post weird, if anyone knows?

Ok... that last dyno gives a good look(now that I’m not misreading it) ha!
So I added two resonators to the mid-pipes and very happy. Still have the gurgling sound when coasting but sound is back near stock! These are straight through honeycomb resonators by Borla. 2.5 opening 3.5 max width. We added two washers to the brace that holds the mid pipes to ensure clearance.
I did the silenced secondary as well. I like the sound better than the cat. I tiny bit quieter than stock cat, deeper and less drone. ( i have a catback too)

I was holding off on the cat back until I decided on the midpipes, as in the drone. Problem with the mid pipes for me was at 2k-2500 was drone, this made it a nicer rider on the inside for sure! I agree like this better than the cats and is worth it to me.

If you want performance and you don't have it - grab a piggyback or tune, JB4 is what I run.
If you a little performance and some sound grab a CAI or DIY intake (spool/intake noises).
If you want more sound - Cat-back exhaust (Borla exhaust if you want to be real loud).
And if you have all the above, then maybe consider primary then secondary DPs.

I'm not here to hate on anyone or say their purchases aren't justified. You do you. I personally don't want to be spending money on something that isn't going to do what I want and hopefully share that information with others in the same boat. And this might change once we can fully unlock/tune the ECU.

Just trying to help sort out the confusion. Have I missed anything?

I have had customers buy these in place of a catback
Some customers have wanted to increase the tone/note while still keeping most of the drone at bay by using the stock mufflers
Much cheaper than any subtle catback (magnaflow/stillen/thermal etc)

Yeah, also a good option. Basically do one of the two if for a little more 'grunt' to the sound, but not full-blown look at me sound. And if you're wanting to save money, a suited choice.

I havnt forgot to get the dps put on and dyno tested.....theres just major crap going on right now for me....and its also 102 every day :) Wash
Hey Wash, hopefully all the major crap has died down ;) Eh, who am I kidding, now we're mid covid... I hope you and your family are fairing well!

Anyway, did you ever get a chance to hit the dyno after putting the pipes on?

Expect little to no HP gain with only these.

Think about it like a straw that has 4 sections and you replace only 1 the other 4 sections are the same so you shouldn't expect any real difference.

Havnt had a chance to dyno...just too much stuff going on....like losing a lot of my retirement in the market...so now ive got to trade every day like a job only worse..trying to gain back my savings....BUT I will say this.....there is a great difference in the butt dyno for sure....and the HP and torque seems to have moved up some and there has got to be gains...now she not only gets rubber at the start but also thru second...crazy ! I would have to say these pipes are the second best thing that ive installed with the JB4 being number 1 of course.....and the sound is very nice just a slight increase in level with a nice burble on start up....ive missed you guys! :) Wash

Thanks for getting back to us with an update, Wash! Sorry to hear about your retirement, I've heard that happening to a lot of people. Though, recently I've seen it climbing back up pretty quickly. Hopefully we get solid bounce back once we get through this whole Covid thing... and the riots...

I'm fully stock at the moment and have been trying to decide on what exhaust to go with as I'm more interested in sound over HP for the exhaust. I want it to roar. Right now it meows but I want people to hear the performance Kia has given us. I've never had a car with this kind of performance and have never been to a dyno but I'm open to whatever you might be offering.

Borla exhaust...and once you hear that roar you may want a nice side of extra power so then get the JB4 chip.

If ya take a peak at his signature you’ll notice he has the JB4;)

Ok, There is allot of information here and I have a couple specific questions I am hoping to get an objective answers:

1. If I just get the ARK downpipes and no other exhuast changes, will I get any performance (hp/tq) gains?

2. I do not want drone. A very small increase in drone would be ok if there is a good perfomance increase.

I have injen intake, airducts, and a bunch of electrical appearence upgrades. I plan on adding a JB4 after my performance mods are complete.

Thanks for your feedback.

What could I expect from adding the Ark downpipes? I have an ijen intake, air ducts, and plan on adding a JB4 and perhaps an upgraded intercooler.

1. Would I get any performance gains from just the Ark downpipes? (Hp/Tq)

2. I don't like drone. With everything else stock on the exhaust would I get noticeable drone?

I can live with a little drone if the performance is better.

Thanks
Gonzo

Ark advertises all stainless construction, the flanges are chromed mild steel.

Mids add no power just a little more sound. With stock exhaust they sound quite good making it just a bit more aggressive growl.

Just put on the ARK downpipes.
Here is a link to installation and dyno for similar downpipes.
I've definitely noticed a performance improvement, especially through 2nd and 3rd gear.
They sound is great too, definitely an improvement and not loud until you really get on it. In my opinion the ARK downpipes are the least expensive way to get HP gains along with adding a JB4 or other chip.

Sorry for the old threat revival but in the comments section of this video there's a guy saying this is all BS, that this isnt sold anymore and dyno was manipulated. Any final consensus on secondary DPs?
