I find the Auto mode on the windshield wipers sketchy and they don't work when you want them to and work when you don't want them too. I think it needs to be a bit more sensitive to the elements outside and speed up and slow down more appropriately for the precipitation hitting the window. The intermittent switch seems sketchy too. Shouldn't be this difficult to get the wipers to work properly. And I also thought the wipers were heated. When I start my car and warm it up i have the front defrost setting on but my wipers do not melt the ice off of them. Am I doing something wrong. AND, why is it that I cant pull out my wipers from the windshield in order to clean my windshield. The wipers seem to get hung up on part of the hood of the car and it prevents me from pulling the wipers out causing the metal on the wiper arms to scratch the paint on the hood of the car. That is another glitch that needs fixing. The auto high beam thingy is nice but if you don't want it on you have to flash your oncoming traffic in order to turn it off...thats not Cool..

I think I'm with you on this. My old cars worked great. Speed up, wipers speed up. Stop, wipers slow.

I found this past week that no matter what, wipers would slow down when I speed up and turn into dueling maniacs when I was stopped. It's wild how useless the auto mode is. I could not get them to go the speed I wanted to.

When you turn the car off push and hold the wiper control in the up position and they will move into the service position so you can pull them off the window. Has to be done within a certain timeframe after turning the car off or won’t work. Full credit to @Stinger GT SS for that little pearl of wisdom. I’d been doing it the way shown in the video with limited success.

My 2016 Optima was the same way, the difference being the wipers on the Optima were hidden from view as they were covered by the hood, a much cleaner look. Took me a bit of due diligence to figure out how do you change the blades.

I used mine today in auto mode and they worked flawlessly, I was impressed with how they would simply come on, change speed and shut off when not needed.

I have to agree about the auto wipers totally freaking out and not letting one select the intermittent they want... The Stinger was supposedly designed by BMW M division dude, and the BMW Auto wipers work killer.... KIA fix the auto wiper and intermittent delay so the driver can adjust.

.................dont think ///M does any wipers ................Bierman worked on the suspension , and all my BMW auto wipers were "iffy" at best

The Auto wipers are adjustable out it on auto and adjust the inter

Have to agree with the wiper complaints. They are very slow to response and adjust. Coming from a VW, I’m pretty disappointed with the KIA auto wipers.
On the other hand, the light sensors seem to do their job fairly well.

I have no issues with the wipers. They work fine, they speed up and slow down accordingly, and I don't have an intermittent switch, mine adjusts the rain sensor sensitivity. Hmmm...

I don't use the intermittent position, mine work perfectly in Auto. Self adjusts to speed, rain intensity, etc.

I've got a 2018 GT Limited, and I love it, but I have a couple of pet peeves about it. One of which is the Auto position for the wipers that is very erratic (at least in my Stinger).

You know you can adjust the sensitivity of them ?
Leave in auto position and adjust the intermittent part on stalk, I have mine adjusted to react abit later as i hate them coming on when bugger all rain and my glass beads so rain runs off...but the do definitely adjust to to the intensity of the rain and speed...hope that helps..
Oh to try this out leave car on and spray the front window with heavy and light water and adjust as needed to your liking. :)

Ah! Now I get how to use the auto wiper! Thanks! :D

Move the lever to auto. Then move the slider up or down to adjust the sensitivity. :)

Yeah, but I still wish it had regular intermittent wipers as in most other cars. I don't need this brainless automatic system, which never works right for me, especially on light drizzle rain, no matter how I "adjust the sensitivity" on it.

I rather have the wipers go on at the hint of rain versus go on when the rain has already set in.

As for the intermittent wipers, I almost always override them and wipe manually. :p

Mine work great. My car is a 2019. I wonder if they improved them between 18 models and the 19's?

Mine are good too once I understood how it worked and was adjustable.

I also have 2019 and they are very slow to react in comparison to my former VW Passat. You can especially see this when driving under heavy rain and you enter a tunnel. They keep going on for quite a while even though there's no more rain and after you exit the tunnel they have a long delay until they figure out what's happening.
