The installer wasn’t the guy from the “ I know boats” commercial was he?:)
Yep that's him ! ....actually no he was a Vietnamese chap with a ponytail.

Ok the latest on the flat battery and the suspected mis install of the Blackvue 900 and magic pro. So I took it back to Autobarn , as you might remember I went there originally armed with my mobile opened on the forum with a fellow members expert tips which I tried to quote.
The resident " Expert" sprouted that "he didn't need any advise as he cut his teeth on such luminarys as Porshes and Mercedes Benz".

Well the manager inspected the "Experts" install I believe it was wired to accessories not to continuous . More annoying he kept cutting me off from getting my 2 cents worth, cos I do enjoy a good whine and gloat. Let's see what transpires.
So they had it plugged into the wrong fuse? Do you know what they’ve plugged into now?

I'll stick my head under there in the morning. They were really reluctant to engage in much dialogue. I'll take a photo to. Got too busy today to investigate much.

Struth! I just saw that clip on the news literally only seconds ago. A miracle anyone survived. If this compilation is opening with that one, I think I’m too scared to watch the rest.

Bloody Audi drivers
In Melbourne today, on Racecourse rd, we stopped because of lights and I had a " keep clear " on the road in front, so I did.
A black Audi from the other side of the road came into the keep clear area, I thought he was going into the driveway of the business. When we got a green light, he turned and drove off. My son asked " is he allowed to do that ? " I replied " I'm not sure as it's Melbourne but he's an Audi driver, they do what they want "

I know Racecourse Rd, you were a long way from home @Flameangel .

I have owned a Navman Mivue 580 Dashcam for at least 5 years now, and it primarily stays in my daily driver, but last Wednesday I decided to take my Stinger out for a drive, for those who know the Tullamarine Fwy , I was travelling in the left lane at 80kph, city inbound planning to exit at Bulla Rd / Bell St exit, with Essendon Airport immediately on my left hand side, funny how before the upgrade with extra lanes, the speed limit was 100kph, now it's 80kph.

I am close approaching the exit, when all of a sudden it gets all dark behind me, I look in my rear view mirror and a huge garbage truck flew left across the right lane next to me, and squeezed out the car behind, as I enter the exit lane the truck is now tailgating me and no kidding , a good 2 feet off my Stinger rear bumper, felt like a scene from the classic film " DUEL " for those whom know it and have seen it.

So the first 100m of the exit is a single lane and the truck is riding my tail a few feet behind, after that we get a right hand lane, which I need to change too, but I know the truck will want as well, so the driver starts to merge into the right lane almost what looks like clipping my driver's side corner of the rear bumper, there was no contact and as he passed I was quite vocal on the horn, but to no avail, and lucky I had the dashcam from my daily driver in the Stinger, as it recorded the truck as it passed and raced ahead, silly for him, the truck has , for those here in Victoria, may have heard of the " City of Darebin ", plastered all over it, so later that day I called and made an official complaint about truck 563 on the side cabin, I also had video of the registration number, but couldn't make it out, too blury, don't know why. I have asked for a call back , let's see if I do ?Anyway thought I would share this road experience in my Stinger, and glad I had my dashcam on board.

@DCBStingerGT
I know the area well, also seen Duel, so can sympathize with you. I hope Council deals with the driver. If you don't get a response within a few days I would be fronting up to one of the service centres and making a big noise.

Great classic move, Duel. Everyday when I drive to work on a major highway, trucks are always trying to kill you. Not to mention the rocks and crap that get thrown at you from behind. Sorry but I hate truck drivers over here. Looks like you have a few morons over there too.

Hey!! take that back ! my hubby is a Truck Driver, their not all idiots in fact he encounters lots of idiots in cars. Cutting in front etc, like a b-double fuel tanker can really stop instantly ? They do a dangerous job and are under constant scrutiny.
He is exhausted when he gets home after concentrating in his 12 hr shift, then has to drive 1.2hrs home.I worry about his safety all the time.
If it wasn't for trucks delivering goods we would all be up shit creek without a paddle.

Sure there are some idiots driving them but there are many more F**k wits in cars.

I knew I would get some flak from someone out there. Yes I know they aren't all idiots, it's just the highway I use to go to work is full of trucks and some very large ones. I suppose you don't notice the many who do the right thing and keep left, don't tail gate or speed but you certainly notice the ones that do. They are very intimidating and I have feared for my life on numerous occasions by several cowboy truck drivers who forget that a b-double whatever can't stop in the one car length distance that they leave in front of them behind me. I know who will come off second best if a collision does occur and it won't be them. Until our government introduce laws that keep trucks in the left hand lane in this state and reduce the speed at which they can travel, I will never feel safe or enjoy my trip to or from work. Sorry if I offended you. I'm sure your husband is one of the good ones.

Plus he rides bikes too so he must be a good bloke.

@Flameangel's hubby is a good bloke, met him in person.:)
I'm sure he is. He's married to Flame. Just a bad generalisation I made. Obviously the majority of truck drivers do the right thing but you just tend to tar them all with the bad driving of some of their compatriots.

@Nasscar all good, over here on the main freeway’s trucks have to keep out of the right lane.I admit, I find a big truck on my ass intimidating and try to get away from them. I am always respectful of them and give them plenty of room.
Yes, the cowboys do give the good drivers a bad name. I know they are under pressure to deliver goods etc on time and some tend to speed because of this. I know hubby is very responsible.
One evening a Honda came in front of him, she was lost and thought she’d miss her turn.Without even looking over her shoulder or in her side mirror she pulled out in front. Luckily hubby’s tanker was empty, he told me she got stuck on his front left bumper and he was terrified he was going to go over her and crush the car. He tried to keep pulling away from her until she came loose and spun, hit one of his back wheels and spun off to the side.
Needless to say both of them were shaken up.
Hubby was sent home, police investigated too. Anyway a witness in another car called into his work to advise his boss that hubby had done a fantastic job and if it wasn’t for him trying to take the action he did there may have been a fatality that night.
Yes, he Married me, he’s a good bloke ;)
