How to remove and replace the rear badge on the Kia Stinger

Email import shark with photos, ask him for a response within two working days. If the goods are faulty then he must replace or refund at his expense. If he does not, let @kiastinger know as import shark is a vendor on the forum. Be civil to import shark even if its not reciprocated. If you paid with paypal and you dont get any joy then contact paypal and raise a dispute. Paypal take over the negotiating so give them all the emails and photos to back your case. Paypal refunds you always if its proven provider is wrong.

Did this and got the following response - "We can simply send you an activator that you can wipe onto the backing right before sticking the badge to the car. This is how professional bodyshops and dealerships re-apply badges that were previously removed."

Has anyone used an activator for something like this before? Has it worked...?

Try it and if it works then good but really you should get a refund. I suspected that would be his response. The stuff just makes it sticky to touch, most likely it will just fall off. Did you send photos?

Makes more sense for them to send you a refund or a replacement instead of sending you an activator. Why make your customers fix your faulty products?

I did, this is what I sent him.

That glue is no good anymore. No activator will make it stick, there is simply too much dirt in it. Time to get a new one from a different vendor.

Did you pay with PayPal?

I did actually. I went back to IS and essentially stated what @robz32 said so I'm waiting on a response now.

Depending on what response is given I will definitely be opening a dispute with PayPal.

well done, they should approve with evidence that you give them and you get to keep the goods. Expect a week to 10 days before they pay out.

Hi guys,

It was my first time rebadging a car and I somehow scuffed up the area around the back emblem pretty bad :( You can't really see it in certain angles/lighting but it is definitely noticeable. I used Goo-Gone, hair dryer, dental floss, quick detailer spray and two plastic wedges that I bought from the stinger forum store.

I have no clue how it got so scratched up from using those tools.. I used the exact same method on the front emblem, AWD badge and the small stinger badge with no scratches/issues.

Any products or methods you guys recommend to remove these swirls? I just got the car last week so I'm really bummed out that this happened
This happened to me today also. I did the same method with fish line and goo gone. My guess is that the oval was placed to tight and left its mark in the paint.

did you find a fix?

Yes, it was actually an easy fix.

I used Meguairs Ultimate Compound and Ultimate Polish with a foam applicator pad to remove the swirls. You don't need to use a lot of it for such a small surface area.

I used meguairs compound but it really didn’t take the scratch away.

Does any store sell the large 14” emblem in gloss black?

Any know of a place DC, VA, Maryland that can buff out some scratches for me?

I figured, just wondering if any come prepainted.

No worries. It's easy to fix

Get a DA polisher, get some meguiars M101 and a microfiber cutting pad and polish it out.
Is there any instruction online that steps out your suggestion? I have the same swirls from rebadging. I'm not sure what "cutting" means, etc.
Additionally, is there a way to do this with good results manually, or is an electric polisher pretty much a must have?

So got my badges from here and installed. Both the front and back KIA badge are just 3m adhesive only holding them. The back will have 2 prongs to line up and the front will have 3 prongs. Mixture of heat, adhesive remover and fishing line will get the job done.

I did notice the 3 holes on the front. the bottom hole is opposite the prong on the Korean E badge. Therefore I had to trim the bottom prong off with a Dremal.

did You remove the smaller script stinger emblem on the left side back? If so, would it not leave holes?

No, there are no holes. There are many pics of Stingers with the badges on each side removed.

I used that one in the middle in place of the KIA emblem (it covers the holes just fine.)
