• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Northern Virginia Stingers

why’s that?
As I have read from a bunch of posts, most RWD Stingers already have a hard time hooking with the amount of boost in factory launch control. The BMS Brake Switch is intended to give more boost (by being able to launch at 2800-2900 RPMs vs. 2000-2200 RPMs) for a better launch, but it is only helpful if you are able to hook. AWDs are distributing that power to 4 wheels vs. 2 wheels on RWDs.

That's my understanding anyway

no worries my intention for the BMS wasn’t to get more traction but to break the tires loose for burnouts

It will certainly do that!!! Just be aware that I've experienced the car going into limp mode if the tires spin too long (seems like 2 sec it the threshold). Seems like maybe it's maybe initiated by the TCU. I had to restart the car to get out of limp mode. Still trying to figure out if it still goes into limp with traction and stability control turned off. Def does with just traction control turned off. If anyone knows about this please chime in.

All of these pavement projects are a real pain in the butt and have destroyed the front end of my car and windshield BUT

They finished a pretty decent stretch on 495 off of braddock road and oh man, does this car love new pavement. That was like taking a drug

I know, it has been terrible on the front end. I have a ton of very small nicks all over the front. I'm seriously considering getting it PPF'd. They finally paved the HOT lanes between Braddock Rd and McLean too, that road was rough as hell and I drive it daily.

I just got my Stinger back yesterday from the "cardboard box of room" repairs. Front end is all nice and pristine. My daily commute is along that stretch of 495 as well, but luckily it's my co-worker's turn to carpool this week and next. I'm dropping my Stinger off Tuesday for PPF & ceramic. Hopefully that will keep it as pristine as possible from the nasty dirt and stone storm that is 495.

anybody here have to replace their windshield yet? I’ve got a safelite appointment on Wednesday. $1200 to replace if it weren’t for the deductible. I scheduled them to come to me so I could be on stand-by to coach the technician on the secret windshield-wiper protocol

Uggg how did that happen??

a rock chip, then it extended a third of way across the windshield on its own in the sun at dulles parking lot this morning. I touched it and it went about half way so i knocked it the rest of the way.

at least it matches now accross the windshield? I have bad luck with windshields and tires.

My '18 Premium had *3* chips in the windshield when I traded it in. A local windshield place wanted over $2K to replace it (before deductible) when I had them take a look at the first chip after it had happened last summer. At least they're coming down in price since then, but still! It seems like the glass is A) Soft B) Expensive C) Both A+B (this!)

Hey all, so I decided to sell the Stinger. I have a full set of weather tech front and back mats in PERFECT shape that id be willing to let go for 100 (came off my gt2 awd). I also have the OEM plastic trunk cover. If anybody was interested, I would be willing to sell both for 130. The mats were in for about 8 months and the trunk cover for about 4 months. Ping me if interested and I would be willing to meet up in the NOVA area.

Not getting my Stinger back til Monday, so no. The detail guy found dents and scratches on the roof, scratches on the lift gate, and scratches on the hood lift cylinders that were all likely caused by carelessness at the body shop. The detail guy is taking care of all of that except for the hood cylinders...I'll take that up with the body shop.

well I’ll be there around 7/7:30 unless anybody wants to meet earlier to park in the event. my stinger is nothing to look at with my bifocal themed windshield. Safelight showed up this week with a third party windshield (not OEM)... so windshield replacement still pending

There was a halloween theme going on this morning. And another red stinger! 72A33B84-E30D-4D9C-B6EE-FF0D3E5C9CCE.webpC912DB1D-45F5-420C-9D68-62C111B741D4.webp02B09B5B-74AE-45B8-948C-C4C4E292E6B2.webp9C913AF6-EFE5-4E25-A221-B9F669B57969.webp91E1A7B3-EC2B-492A-B6A6-C73585F7D372.webp9C9C56B8-C83D-4A1C-8D77-27C7192EBFD0.webp
And when this corvette pulled in I thought for a second they had painted stinger wheels and put them on their vette
