Front license plate and brackets

We've got these license plate mount kits in stock and since they work for the Genesis Coupe, Sonata and Optima (and I think Veloster too), I'm pretty darn sure they'd also be compatible with the Stinger. Would anyone be interested in purchasing one at a discount in return for installed pics? If it doesn't fit, you may return the kit for a refund or credit.

the OEM bracket isn't a very good design IMO. there are 3 screws that hold the bracket on and then 2 longer screws that hold the license plate onto the bracket BUT the screws are so long that they would screw into the bumper as well. i found a couple shorter screws that would only screw into the bracket

I run a front plate to avoid hassle of potentially being pulled over/ticketed but figured future owners probably won't.

the bracket could be improved by coming with rivets to secure it to the bumper and shorter screws for the plate

You can do the same thing with two L-brackets. Of course the ones you’re looking at allow you to remove the plate easier, so if you’re going to car shows then that’s a benefit for sure. However if your desire is to mount the plate under the bumper so as to not have holes right smack in front of the bumper then underneath is the way to go. (At least it’s not visible).

It looks like an excellent way to achieve a lower mount position and the ability to go without a plate , Please keep us posted if you do it , I would be interested ................

Oh no no just wondering how it might look that's all. I actually think not centering the plate might actually give a nice touch to a unique exterior

I'm pretty sure it's just a couple screws or small bolts under the lip of the front bumper. (Would only be visible if you're looking up from under the car).

I live in Missouri where a front plate is supposed to be mandatory. But I've driven my G8 GT for 10 years without a front plate because I didn't want to drill holes in the front bumper. I've never been stopped. But I also retired from the state highway patrol (crime lab) and that ID card comes in handy at times. I keep the front plate in the trunk to show that I'm not running "split" tags on another vehicle...just in case.

I worry about covering the heat exchanger for the turbos or the radar section in the front-center, or the radiator.

My front plate mount finally came in. I have a picture but no part number yet. Still trying for that. It is at the dealer right now, so I can't take any other pics but will get a shot of the mounting point when she is back in my hands.

Thanks for the update! This is actually Big Mike's Sto N Sho, which is apparently licensed exclusively to StingerHaus. I'd been watching his website for a compatibility update, and he must have just added the Kia page in the last couple of weeks.

I have to wonder if it might be possible to mount this or a similar solution below the tiger nose grill, instead of below the intercooler. That would put the plate in the same location as the factory mount, but would avoid airflow concerns (of which I'm not too worried), as well as any sensors that might be blocked by tow hook mounts.

There are bound to be other similar “universal” products. One concern that I would have is the length of the arms that slip into the mounting plate. As you can see in my last picture, there isn’t much bumper to mount to before you get to the undercarriage cover. This setup puts the plate very close to the vehicle. If you don’t mind it sticking out further, or feel you can drill an appropriate hole through the arm, a universal mount should be fine.

If there is a flat enough expanse that is wide enough for the mounting plate and far enough forward for the arms to clear the overhang, I don’t see why not. I like it where it is because if I remove the plate, the mount is only visible if you get down under the car. Might be more visible under the tiger nose.

Hello @ImportSharkMike, has anyone tried one of these puppies yet? If not I'll be happy to buy one and provide pictures/info. From the picture I can't see where it mounts though - where does that rod thingy connect into, the grill?
