So like the stinger?Roll racing is for cars that don’t launch well.

Unfortunately our Stingers are at a disadvantage when roll racing because our top end falls off significantly over 5k RPM. We have tiny twin turbos that spool quickly and max TQ at low RPM(1300-4500) which is great for 0-60's & 1/4m's. However, that means we dont have the strong top end HP pull which is what wins roll races.Has any done roll racing? I am seeing a lot drag times, but my opinion races are won at the mid range. I do a lot of roll races. Any one any feedback or videos of a Stinger killing cars on mid range?

If you want a roll take your ass to the bakery.

Now I'm not saying we cant compete with a lot of high performance cars even when roll racing. I'm simply saying that most Stinger owners already know to play to our advantages instead of falling victim to high HP cars that will walk away and take us to "gapplebees"![]()
Still the 8 speed and the V6 i thought would make it compete with your Golf Rs and RS3s. But also the stinger isnt exactly a light car, I guess its looking at that pull from 25mph - 110/120 mph
Guess we have to wait until a turbo upgrade becomes available on the market![]()

Golf R yes, RS3 no. The key is to stay in the power band if your roll racing, so don't redline it, try to shift around 6k. I have raced quite a few cars roll racing and the Stinger fares well.
It is "smarter" than most of us. But that isn't as fun! To each his own.I personally don't mess with the paddles, I prefer to just punch it hard to the kickdown switch and let the auto do its own thing.
All of my runs against other cars have been roll races on deserted Mexican highways; so far so good, haven't lost one yet. I've managed to pull away from several powerful and far more expensive rides (Ghibli, LC500/rcf, F-type) and stay either neck and neck or slowly inch on others (550i, ATS-v, S7).
