Realizing how great the Stinger line is, I'm curious to see what others considered prior to purchasing..... Audi A5, is350, Regal HB, Dodge Charger etc,etc ?

Well, each time somebody asks this I have to say NONE. This is my first ever brand new car. And I had no intentions of buying a new car ever in my life. I was seduced. By KIA, of all things!

I couldn't find other threads....sorry for the redundancy.....I think I'm trying every reason NOT to get it but I keep getting seduced also....wanna see if the 2020 has the k900's virtual dash!

It was no question about "let's look at other cars, if you're thinking about this." It was the Stinger. I liked what I saw, then what I read, all of it. And the package worked on me, wore me down and I caved after the test drive. :P

The Stinger's dash dials are a pretty nice effort in current form. The blend of traditional dials that look modern and the largish info screen in-between, is a good blend.

True but any thoughts on thread title?....lol

I was all-in for either the Q50 Sport or the Audi 5 Sportback. Thought about a BMW 3 or 4 series. I REALLY wanted the S5 Sportback, but didn't want to drop that kind of coin. Then I drove a GT2. Blew the Q50 and A5 out of the water IMHO, and I felt like I got most/all of the what the S5 offered (albeit a 1/2 notch down in interior quality) for close to $20K less. So far, no regrets.

Sorry, on topic ... we have less options in Aus and as a buyer I'm a little different, as this was a third car option for our family, not a daily driver.
My process, sold my little Bmw 125i (F20 lci type) hatchery then we considered larger SUVs (Santa Fe, Sorento, Kodiaq, Mazda 9) drove all those, all functional but very uninspiring. Drove a new V8 Mustang too, real nice. Viewed a few used Porsche Cayman's, dismissed those as good a "S" is still too expensive here. Looked at the new VW Arteon, Skoda Superb 206 too, both ok but not my cup of tea. Sneaked a peek at the Holden Commodore (you guys call it a Buick Regal), yeah no, not for me. Finally ... the blend of style/looks, performance, size, comfort and finish quality vs value, and after a test drive, the Stinger prevailed and by a long way (and maybe it was always going to, I had been pining for 2 years now!) but I still went through the motions to be certain. I'm certain!

I've owned my Optima for 8 solid years now and prior to stinger was pretty set on S7 2017...the horror stories of German ownership however has me backtracking quickly and Stinger has move quickly back into the top 2-3....quickly!

I never thought about getting a car like the Stinger until I saw the Stinger on the showroom floor when getting the Sorento. I looked at S5, RS5, Q50 Sport and a few others but I was already smitten with the Stinger. Only one other vehicle really checked off most of the blocks, but none as well as the Stinger, and that one was about 50% more expensive.

I came from a 2016 Q50 3.0T , nice car, everything minus Android auto. Just was not sporty enough! If they make a RS400 and get Android Auto I would consider it. Also considered Audi RS3 and Camaro. Both are on the table when my lease is done, my goal was 400hp did that can haul a kid around in the back haha :)

I've had an infatuation with HB since I missed on a 1983 Supra! I had a 2006 Mazda 6 HB ....I'm a passionate golfer and love the look and practicality of HB....man if this car was another 6 or 7 inches .....perfection

Value for the money and warranty. That and the current cycle of cars are starting to look the same and hideous.
The warranty was also a plus as was the finance rates. Value was a factor as it should always be. Most important was how well it checked off all the boxes better than anything near its price could do. It's also gorgeous, easily the best looking in its class. And it was new. Few have these.

That’s exactly what happened to me. I read a review, read another one, did a bit more reading, took one for a drive then bought one same day. Didn’t consider anything else.

In order, most to least considered - Audi A5/S5, Alfa Gulia, Lexus IS300H, Infinity Q50, Jaguar XE, Nissan 370Z, V6 Mustang but naahh I don't want a v6 Mustang .

I went to the Kia dealer fist. When I entered the Showroom I was like jap that's my car right there.
And that's what happend nothing could top the stinger

accually no, the very first car I took a look at was the new Civic Type R BUT they didn't want to sell it to a 23 year old hahaha (they didn't even unlock the car for me) , so I went straight to Kia, the more expensive and better car :D:D:D
