Wow can they do that?
Yes, one of the main reasons I am considering it over the JB4.
Wow can they do that?
Does the JB4 allow removal of the speed limiter like the LAP3?
It could have been another map he was running in not sure I just know it was the fuel wire map. And yes I have meth but it has been off for some time now.
And just for clarification I’m not saying anything bad about JB4 I enjoyed it quiet a bit and even myself helped spread the word on it.
What the hell are you guys doing over 150mph? Lol!Yes, one of the main reasons I am considering it over the JB4.
The limiter is actually much lower on cars that came with all season tires. What the hell are you guys doing over 150mph? Lol!
Also wanted to mention that most (if not all) comparisons and numbers I've seen on this site are from JB4 map 2. I haven't seen anyone post with a customized map 6 yet... In my last car / community (Audi S3 and Golf R) barely anybody was running a standard map on JB4, they were all customized based on their data logs. @Terry@BMS I assume people here can do the same after sending you / BMS a log, right? Also, it looks like the JB4 would beat those numbers with same upgrades. Terry ran 441whp/518wtq with just intakes & e30 blend at 19psi. With same DP, full exhaust and meth injection as LAP3 he’d gain more than 44hp and easily pass 500whp. At 21psi that could add another 10-20whp so according to LAP3s own results they have a little more to go before matching JB4s potential.
If you're using meth injection it's not a big deal - these numbers would not be possible on a stock IC without meth. I'd be worried about a tune this aggressive without meth and stock IC in some climates for sure. How has the stock intercooler been handling all these big numbers? I heard it's pretty small, sounds like heat soak city to me?
Definitely detectable and I don't think it's exactly a 5 minute job to remove it like it is for jb4. From the video I've seen on YouTube the protuner has a ton of wires but of course you should be able to remove it.Is the protune detectable? Or is it plug n'remove like the jb4?
I looked into the pressertech & Tork tunes as well, but yes the two hybrid piggybacks will do about 430-440whp on stock Stingers!Man I was looking into Pressertech but those are some pretty nuts numbers @ 93 octane with stock everything right?
I independently tested the racechip against the JB4 onthe exact same dyno on the exact same day with the exacts same car. Those two performed almost exactly the same. I also race the racechip on the road against a JB4 w/ fueling RWD stinger against me in a racechip black AWD stinger. The JB4 did pull away but only by about a car length at 120mph. I removed JB4 to install ProTuner..... this is significantly faster.
I’ll be returning to that dyno next week and tonight I’ll be going to a 1/8 mile strip. The same strip on which I ran the stinger with JB4.
Good To hear....The Lap 3 pro tuner seems better than the JB4.... i personally own a JB4 and like it......but the pro tuner is bad ass i have a friend with one locally to me and he has the same mods and his car is faster and it just feels faster as well......but for me when i seen the install instructions of getting to the cam sensor i was like i am good with the JB4 even if its a little slower....but i personally will get an actual ecu tune for the price of a pro tuner....but it is good to hear that you like it and its performing wellGood morning to all!!
I would like to take a moment to comment on the LAP3USA Pro Tuner.. First I would like to say this, I don't have any experience with any other tuner for the Stinger.. I have the GT-2 RWD model,
I have driven the car for some time with the Pro Tuner, and all I can say is this...On Mode-2 with the new app, which is Mode-3 on the old app...This car is Insane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The car just pulls and pulls and pulls!!!!! The power delivery is extremely smooth and linear and it seams to never stop pulling!!! I am so in love with this Tuner!! I have dealt with David Chung for years and he also sold me on the Tuner for my 2014 SX OPTIMA.
One of the reasons I choose Lap3usa a few years back, was because of David's Humbleness and honesty!! He took the time to explain the tune and what it's doing..also dove into other aspects as far as explaining fuel and the like.
I will say this though, whatever tune company you decide to opt for??? Make sure your gentle on the car when you are first accelerating and test the mapping stages patiently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Turn off your radio and use caution when getting into max TPS and max boost.
You want to pay strict attention to listen out for any ping, tic , or knock which would be Detonation ..I have on occasion obtained lower octane fuel on multiple cars and been able to hear audible detonation. You have to realize that fuel pumps are running winter blend now, which I believe is lower in octane levels.
I would strongly encourage all persons using the after market tuners to add 4-5 gallons of e85 to your fuel tank as a safeguard to detonation.
With that said, I am really loving the Pro-Tuner!!! It really brings this car to life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems the lap 3 pro does more....or offers more for example the speed limiter etc...I’d like to know what else is monitored, if anyone knows. All about increasing the efficiency of the engine - but if one is safer (as in detecting an issue) than the other it would be great to note.
