Hi, Im a new Kia Stinger owner. I bought a 18 GT Limited, 6500 miles, and love it. First time owning a Kia.
I have a couple of questions. I hear a wind noise from what sounds like on the roof. Is this common. I don’t have a sunroof.

I’ve seen a lot of post about changing the spark plugs. Is there an advantage to changing them.

i have the nine speaker audio system. ugh. I’ve been thinking of swapping out the small speaker under the seat with a powered sub woofer. Has anyone done this.

When buying my car I saw the 2022 and loved the new hood logo. Anyone know where to buy one to replace the original badge

thanks

Check the K8 stinger store he may have logos in stock and its a forum shop too

Hks plugs are what i have but denso does the job if you wanna save some dough

Wind noise with no sunroof sounds off but i have a sunroof so no help here.

Many members have discussed audio upgrades and problems in the audio section of the forum

Sorry i did not answer those in order!

Also welcome!

Welcome!

No real reason to change plugs unless you're going to add a tune (ECU or piggyback).

Wind noise may be your door seals. I keep mine lightly lubed with Shin Etsu grease and it keeps the noise away.

I'm not certain the new badge will cover the holes in the older hoods, so make sure it's compatible with a 2018 before you buy anything.

Howdy and welcome. Your questions are getting answers already; but I can tell you the floor-mounted subs pack a wallop. Try a YouTube boosted bass track like this and you'll be impressed (probably not enough impressed to satisfy but at least you'll know the factory sound system is a good one).

I originally was going to buy a gt1 with the 15 speaker system. Fantastic sound. Because I heard that system my nine speakers can’t compare.

I’ll try the door seal grease. Great idea. The new badge is actually quite large. I’m sure it’ll cover the holes. I saw it on a 2022 gt2.
thanks

I recently discovered the sound volume control in the settings. I turned it up and stereo sounds much better. Not sure why the car has that settings control.

Could you direct me to this, please? I've never noticed any "control" that adjusts the sound volume other than the volume knob and switch on the steering wheel.

I’m not at my car but I believe it is : Go to settings, then sound, then go down to second level click, you’ll see three different items. Turn them all up. It gets really loud. Click on home button to get back to stereo Which should now sound a whole lot better.

There are sound settings effects you can activate and change and there are treble bass and mid levels too. Also speed-depended volume if you keep the windows down

I have bass at +8, mid at +4 and high at +1; ClariFi off, "stage" selected; I almost never have my windows down, but almost always have my sunroof open.

Clarifi is very helpful if you use bluetooth

I can't see what you're referencing. When you say "settings", you mean "Setup"? Here's what I see in my MY18 sound/stereo settings:

(edit to add: Ah, I think I get it: you upped the volume of Android Auto and/or Apple Car Play - "Connected Device Volume". The reason I never opened that option and saw this is because I have never used either.)

Funny, I have the GT-1 and just yesterday brought the bass to -3, mid and treble up to +3 so I could hear things clearly, but then I listen to a lot of podcasts and am getting old (you lose high frequency hearing as you get older - strange but true fact). Still, even for music it was way too bass heavy for me, at least for the classic rock stuff I generally listen to on the XM. I guess that's why they let the user control it - different strokes for different folks!

Same story here bass negitive 3 and mid up 5 high up 7 . Alot of properly adjusted songs have way to much bass and poorly edited music has soft mids so its a win win most of the time

Indeed. The issue some listeners have with the Harman Kardon is too shrill or emphasized treble. I find it harsh myself but my midlife hearing isn't really great in the high tones; so I have it bumped a bit; to make it balance with the rest I have them boosted even more.

Been out of touch awhile. Here’s the sound level adjustment I was referring to. Not sure what there for. If I turn them up my overall volume is up, I think . If I check back the next day they are all back down. Don’t know the purpose of these adjustments. To get to it go settings, sound, volume level,

What is Clarifi? I often use bluetook
In the audio settings you can look to advanced settings and there are options for speed dependent volume. The special 'on stage' or 'audience' settings for the speakers and you can turn on the thing called clarify for bluetooth. Have a look around the menu of your infotainment system. I just hit all the buttons when i get a thing and try to figure it out lol
