Why are there always JB4 tuners for sale?

I am interested in increasing the fun on my stinger with a JB4 tuner. Would probably never go above map2. It would be just for fun on drives mostly to scare the wife. I have intakes, catch can and plugs already. My only reservation is that they are always for sale in the classified section.

I understand that tuning can cause extra wear, void warranty, etc. Are they being sold because they break things? Or are folks just tired of going faster? Bored? Interested to know before I commit the cash.

I know Some of them are part outs from the car being sold.

JB4 is the most popular Kia tuning solution by far. There are several thousand Kia JB4 tuners out there in the wild, around 150-200 more added every month. People usually sell when they sell their car.

If you're experienced with tuning used is a good way to save a few bucks but JB4 warranty and email tuning support are only available to the original purchaser. And you're ensured the latest hardware. So buying new has its advantages.

They only thing that keeps me from getting one is they are not driver mode switchable? I would only want it (map2) active in Sport mode and maybe map1 in others. As far as I can tell when its on.. it always on unless you switch it with the app or with the wiper stalk option.

All maps also reference the gas pedal lol. Unless you're pressing the gas pedal down heavily you're still on stock tuning regardless of the JB4 map selection.
