Aside from the cargo space the only thing I prefer about the BMW are the more subtle front brake vents. I think the chrome on the Stinger's is really gaudy and doesn't fit the car at all.
Agreed = Stinger.
The bmw design certainly does not seem as cohesive as it should be, to my eyes (subjective, I know)
Just from a price perspective then you should expect everything about the BMW to be 2-3 time better ... but it just isn't.
I'm a BMW fan (own an X5 now), but not sure why BMW even produce this particular GT styling. I've not seen many on the road either, but somebody must like and buy them.
I like the front end of the BMW but it really seems to depend on the angle. Sometimes I prefer the Stinger front end. Everything else, for me, goes to the Stinger - especially the rear and the sides...
I prefer the exterior design of the Stinger, although initially I agreed with Davebo that the chrome was gaudy. It's grown on me, especially on a white car, which needs a little bling.
The curve from the roof to the spoiler on the BMW reminds me of the 2018 Buick Regal/Opel Insignia--not a bad-looking car, but more staid and less sporty than the Stinger.
I've wondered about the trunk cover, too. Last time I had a fastback, the cover rolled up like a window shade, which meant it didn't muffle sound, but really helped when I had to haul something tall. Does anybody have an answer to this?
Trunk cover (parcel shelf) is certainly removeable.
No doubt just like any other typical hatchback arrangemnt; undo the hangers, unclip/popout at the hinge, remove.
But I would not consider it stowable, it's far too big.
I've seen 3 and 6 series GT models in the flesh. The photos do not do them justice; the GT series of cars from BMW are overwhelmingly ugly. The proportions are laughably bad.
Stinger is much more attractive from the exterior. BMW is cleaner, necessarily nicer, on the inside. What I wish Kia would do is put the round A/C vents on the driver and passenger sides. That's the single biggest improvement for the interior....looks they cobbled together round and square vents in the same dash from different models. Never the less, we are speaking "Kia" in the same breath as "The Ultimate Driving Machine." Kia is making their presence known!
BMW Interior and front. Everything else, KIA. Especially the side profile. The BMW looks ungainly in the side. On a side note- KIA have said they are competing with the 4 series coupe rather than the 6 series- wonder what people might prefer between the two of them.
